ABOUT
Dear Friends,

We are appealing for your generosity in the crisis that is surrounding the survivors and victims of the earthquake that have struck the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. We have been in communication with artists there, namely Agus Suwage and his wife Tita Rubi, and we have been discussing with them the ways we could help in their crisis. We realise the need for shelter is urgent as many homes and buildings have been destroyed or unstable.

Therefore, we are getting together to sell our artworks and use the proceeds to provide for at least 100 tents urgently required to shelter the homeless. The cost of each tent is S$35.

We will be holding a private art event at 7 30pm on 9 June 2006 (Friday) at Your MOTHER gallery, The Other House and p-10. The galleries will also open throughout the weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 12nn to 6pm. After which, please call to make an appointment to view the works. The exhibition will close on 18 June 2006 (Sunday)

We have invited some of our artist friends to join us. The Artists have pledged the proceeds from the sales of their artworks to purchase the tents. The artworks price are at $250, $500 and $1000, although there are some artworks going for the odd prices outside these standard prices. There are also T-shirts specially designed by Lina Adam available for sale at $35 each. Lina has pledged the sales towards buying tents for the homeless too.

Lastly, there will be performance art as well, by Kai Lam, Sabrina Koh and Dan Lim, on that night. Please do drop by and share with us the joy of helping out our neighbours, the usual Your MOTHER gallery, the other house and p-10 hospitality will apply.

Thank you and see you there! Please check the website for updates as the work towards this exhibition is still in progress.

CASH
We welcome cash sales.

BANK TRANSFER
For bank transfers, please contact us by email or tel directly.

ACTION PLAN
The Artists will forward the proceeds from the sales of their artworks to be transfered to Agus Suwage and Tita Rubi's account. Agus Suwage and Tita Rubi are a husband and wife team who are well established artists in Yogyakarta. Nevertheless, Yogyakarta artists are well known for their closely knitted art communities and there are many artists there that are doing the same as Agus and Tita.

The tents will be ordered from a supplier in Jakarta. The tents will be sent to Purworejo. Agus Suwage and Tita Rubi will pick up the tents from Purworejo and transfer to Yogyakarta.

Each tent size is 6 x 8 meters and is of a better quality than those commonly available in the city itself.
ALSO APPEALING FOR PLASTIQUE KINETIC WORMS
Dear Friends,

We are also acting as collection centers for Plastique Kinetic Worms Appeal. Please read their appeal and you may drop off the items at either Plastique Kinetic Worms, p-10, Your MOTHER gallery and The Other House. Thank You.

JOGYA QUAKE AID

Helping the quake victims - Call for help from artists in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Artists in Yogya have, on their own initiatives, launched their very own donation /distribution drive, reaching out directly to the victims in Bantul, mostly elderly and babies/children.

Help from the authorities are very slow and almost non-existent as the extend of destruction is rather wide and thus many are neglected. They cannot wait any longer as children and elderly have not been fed for days since the quake.

Some artists, whose homes were not affected, have turned their homes into base station, collecting and distributing whatever they can collect from friends. Resources are limited and they are reaching out to us in Singapore.

At the moment, we are collecting specific items like milk powder, biscuits, instant noodles and Milo. These are what we feel are of immediate need. Please do not bring other items than what is being mention because of our limitation of what we can manage. We appreciate your generosity and items can be dropped off at
