Year 2002
Managed to write quite a bit, especially over the summer.
The new official Shiki list opened at the end of the year, Shiki-Temp closed down on New Year's Day, 2003.

as the clock strikes two,
I briefly consider
turning out the light
a comforting thought:
if I arrive late at work,
I'll still be early!
hands deep in pockets,
if only to please mother,
I greet my cousins
Verdi's Requiem:
if I can't hear myself think,
what does it matter?
naked birch
but for the snow
and two dry leaves
a cardboard box:
a table yesterday,
dustbin today
a pheasant hides
from me, then calls from
further away
water strider
drifts, takes a leap and
drifts on again
thoughts interrupted
by a speeding butterfly
right across my face!
afternoon: four trains have passed
— I counted the cars on every one
time to change
ringtones from chaffinch
to great tit
the birch twinkles
in a street lamp's light
as I come home
