I decided to start with Archaic art (and not Schlieman like my teacher suggested) mostly because I found a lot of things in Herodotus that I thought might exist (and many do) and might be fun to look at. Then I focused on the Classical period for the rest of the semester while I was reading Athenian tragedy, comedy, etc. Here is a list of the books I used:
Boardman. Greek Art. Singapore: Thames and
Hudson, 1996
Gardener. Art Through the Ages. Thomson Wadsworth, 2001
Pollit. Art and Experience in Classical Greece. Cambridge University Press, 1998
