Why not? There are tons and tons and tons of fics out there that depict Duo carrying a baby inside an artificial womb and giving birth to a little mini Heero via C-section. Duo is a B-O-Y. Being a B-O-Y means that he is both incapable of carrying children and that it is biogically suicide for him to even attempt. Men are not meant to carry wieght in the front part of their bodies. The blood doesn't flow that way, and their bodies aren't designed to give nurtients to the unborn child like a woman's body is designed to. Besides that, the hormonal changes that take place in a woman during a pregnancy are not meant for a men to feel. I'm not going into women are stronger than men rants here, but emotionally they are. They are more capable to handling sporadic emotion changes because they are more in touch with their emotions. Duo, Mr. Boy's Don't Cry, would have to be tied down. Raw emotion is harder for men to handle as they've put up barriers that society makes them feel are the right things to do. So, between him dying and him going insane, a pregnant Duo is not a very good thing.
Then there's the reply "Well, they're former Gundam Pilots. No one would let them adopt!". Now, I'm going to go into friendships here. And Relena's not going to be cast as a whiny bitch. Sorry for this. If that was the case, which its really not. Most people adore the Gundam pilots now that the war is through, they do have female friends who are MORE than capable of bearing a child for them. It does happen, people. Relena and Hirde both care for Heero and Duo. They are both girls. And there is this thing called in-vitro fertilization. There doesn't even have to be sex for the girl to get pregnant. Isn't that amazing? *rolls eyes* Duo and Heero could have a child with genes that belong to one of them inside of it. Sure it would be half Hirde/Relena, but does that really matter? Children born this way might had slightly odd parentage, but if its loved, does it matter?
Last thing. This is the future. Maybe they've discovered a way to create children from two sperm cells and enfuse it with an egg cell, for all of you that don't like the theory of Relena or Hirde carrying a child that is half of them.
Second, as I discussed in the Yaoi section, there is adoption, and there is the possibility of a friend of the girl carrying a baby, via invitro.
Third, those "I feel your pain/OH MY GOD I'M PREGNANT TOO" stories...I know they make the strap on baby things, with the wieght and bulge and boobs of a baby for men to experience what it's like to be pregnant. Why can't he just strap on one of those?
