  • Adding GeoLogos to your page:

         GeoLogos are downloadable here. These are for Yahoo! GeoCities homesteaders, specifically. Use the following code:

    <A HREF="http://yahoo.geocities.com">
    <IMG SRC="filename.gif" WIDTH="##" HEIGHT="##" BORDER="0" ALT="Yahoo! GeoCities"></A>

         Replace tbe sections in red as follows. Where it says "filename.gif", replace with the actual GeoLogo's file name. Where you see the "##" after both width and height, replace with the actual width and height dimensions

  • Adding background image to your page:

         You need to add BACKGROUND="filename.gif" to your existing <BODY> tag. (Do NOT add a new <BODY> tag unless you are creating a new HTML file/page!) You can find the <BODY> tag usually right after your <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags. Finished tag will look something like this:

    <BODY BACKGROUND="filename.gif">

         Again, replace where it says "filename.gif" with the actual background's file name. Find out more about <BODY> tags and attributes here.

  • Adding a welcome logo to your page:

         Use the following code:

    <IMG SRC="filename.gif" WIDTH="##" HEIGHT="##" ALT="Welcome to my homepage"></A>

         Replace tbe sections in red as follows. Where it says "filename.gif", replace with the actual file name. Where you see the "##" after both width and height, replace with the actual width and height dimensions.

  • Adding a horizontal line graphic to your page:

         Use the following code:

    <IMG SRC="filename.gif" WIDTH="##" HEIGHT="##" ALT="horizontal line"></A>

         Replace tbe sections in red as follows. Where it says "filename.gif", replace with the actual file name. Where you see the "##" after both width and height, replace with the actual width and height dimensions.

  • Adding the buttons (links, home, sign my guestbook, and read my guestbook) to your page:

         Use the following code for most types of buttons (except email buttons):

    <A HREF="pagename.html">
    <IMG SRC="filename.gif" WIDTH="##" HEIGHT="##" BORDER="0" ALT="Image Description"></A>

         Replace tbe sections in red as follows. Where it says "pagename.html", replace this with the actual page's file name you are linking to (or complete URL if it is outside of your site, such as with a guestbook link.) Where it says "filename.gif", replace with the actual button's file name. Where you see the "##" after both width and height, replace with the actual width and height dimensions. Where it says "Image Description", replace with a word or phrase descriptive of the image (like "Read my Guestbook", if you are linking to your guestbook.)

  • Adding the E-mail button to your page:

         Use this code to place an e-mail button on your page: <A HREF="mailto:yourname@yourserver.com">
    <IMG SRC="filename.gif" WIDTH="##" HEIGHT="##" BORDER="0" ALT="E-Mail"></A>

         Replace tbe sections in red as follows. Where it says "yourname@yourserver.com", replace this your e-mail address. Where it says "filename.gif", replace with the actual button's file name. Where you see the "##" after both width and height, replace with the actual width and height dimensions.
