It was the month school was supposed to end. Keshia and Taina were getting ready to end their second year of college. They both got transferred to college in Florida and were packing up their things. Since they were both going to the same college, they decided to share an apartment (a couple of months before, Taina entered a contest to go on tour with the Backstreet Boys that would last during the summer and some months afterward). A few days after moving into the apartment, Taina got a call.
T: Hello?
Caller: Is this Taina Sampeur?
T: Yes.
Caller: Did you enter a contest for you and a person of your choice to go on tour with the BSB?
T: Yes.....
Caller: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! YOU WON!!!!! T: What?
Caller: You won the contest. You and a person of your choice get to go!
T: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Caller: Remember this: on June 17th, be at the very back of the bus depot at noon to meet the group and get settled in.
T: Okay. Thank you!
She hung up the phone then started jumping up and own, screaming. Keshia came into the room and asked her what was going on. Taina told her and they both started screaming. After a while, they both calmed down.
T: I wonder who I am going to take with me.
Keshia looked at her as if she was going to kill Taina.
T: Of course I'm taking you. Calm down. We have to be at the bus depot at noon to meet them on Saturday.
So they went shopping and packed up their clothes. On Saturday, they took a cab to the depot and were there at 11:40 am. They bought a snack and something to read. At 11:55, they started going. They kept having to stop because of all of the fans trying to find the BSB. By the time they got through the crowds, it was 12:30. They saw the guys get on the bus. Then they started running. They saw that the driver was about to get on the bus. They started screaming.
K&T: WAIT!!! WAIT!!!! STOP!!!!
The driver stopped and then keshia stopped. Taina bumped into her. They were out of breath and were speaking at the same time.
T: Wait..................I'm the................contest winner.....................
Driver: What took you so long?
T: We're.....................so sorry.............we were caught in the..............crowds looking for them.................sorry.
Driver: Okay. Hold on.
He went back in the bus and didn't come back for a while. Taina and Keshia were trying to catch their breaths.
T: Woo. I'm tired.
K: Those damned ho's were in my way knocking into me. I was pissed.
T: I know. I hate it when-
Driver: Ladies? They turned around and there stood the BSB. They were speechless.
