My Poetry
September 26

Driving along the mindless road
I wish that I had only known
my nightmare would be coming true...
I'd live on in my life without you

I was crying when you left that day
hoping to go with you on your way...
to buy a belated present for the b-day boy
for your son, your pride and joy

You were going to fast on the street
where your car and life would meet
Never again would you take breath
Your life shattered because of death

I knew that you were late
that you too soon had met with fate
I sank down and I cried
told your son, my brother, that you had died

He couldn't believe me
until that call, then is when he did see...
he saw that you had slipped away...
That you wouldn't be coming back that day

I'm glad that you left with no pain
Glad your life wasn't taken in shame
Aware of where you now lay
and in our hearts you will stay

                            Tomorrow
                            For: Ruben

Tomorrow marks a beginning. It marks a beginning of a new summer vacation. The seniors have graduated leaving me behind. One person shall always remain on my mind. To one person you could mean the world. I know who that one person is, in my life. Sure we may have tried, but not succeeded, but love will never fade unless depleated. One face will keep a thousand memories in mind. One heart will bring a thousand joys to find. Thanks to that one person, to which I owe my gratitude. Thanks to that one person for showing me new light. For showing me new things, and new ways to look upon the old. Thanks to that one love, to which my heart experienced a new hold. Thanks to that one love, in which I will never look past.
