Fumio Toyoda Shihan, President and Chief Instructor of the Aikido Association of America and the Aikido Association International, passed away in Chicago on July 4, 2001 after a short illness.

Toyoda Sensei's organizations, both Aikido Association of America and Aikido Association International, will continue to conduct business as usual as he would expect and wish us to do. Aikido was everything and more to Sensei. He gave us a legacy we need to uphold, a continued dream that will lead us into the future, something that we can hand in turn to future generations. This is our obligation to Sensei, and is the specific request of his family.
