come. It is realy different and I haven't read any like it. (If you can't read
it tell me and I'll repost.)

Logan’s Dream

It always begins with the stench. That sickening mixture of sterile
rooms and death.

I hate hospitals!

A nurse rushes by me, heading to a room at the end of the hall.

Oh no not again! Please not again!

I am being pulled down the hallway. I try to fight, I try to get away, but it
won't let me. Some invisible force keeps pulling me towards that room.

"Doctor we need you NOW!!!" a panic stricken nurse yells from the door.

A doctor nearly knocks me over as he rushes into the room. "Oh my god!"

A high pitched scream echoes through my mind. A scream that sounds almost
inhuman its so full of pain.

I don't want to look in, but again I have no choice.

There is a woman writhing in pain, her belly swollen with child. Her stomach
ripples, and she lets out another scream. The doctor throws out blood soaked
bandages. He inserts his hand were the bandages once were.

"AHHHHH!" his hand is torn to shreds the nurses all run to his side trying wrap
his had and stop the bleeding were he once had fingers.

The woman's face has gone completely white. A trickle of blood runs down her
face. She try's to scream but all that comes out is a gurgle and a flood of
blood. Her fear clouded eyes cast down to her stomach.

Then that sound that unforgettable sound of metal being released.

SHINK! SHINK! SHINK! SHINK!

Four knives made of bone slice the woman from the inside out. Then they change
from white to metallic silver.

"NO!"

The scene fades out, all except one machine.

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep, Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..

Now, here I am awake again. Prowling the halls, wile they all sleep
undisturbed. They all think it's because of some feral part of me that makes me
want to protect the pack. Heh. Shows how much they know. Well maybe there
partially right I would do one sweep then go to bed and SLEEP the whole night
through!!!

Grrrrrraaah

Opps! Jean won't be happy I broke one of her precious cups. Oh well. Wasn't
much thirsty anyway.

Watcher in the Woods

There is something out there something watching us I can feel it. Well that's
just what it is a feeling. A feeling so familiar I just can't put my finger on
it.

I guess I could call it pain but that wouldn't be right would it?....

"Jean. Jean!"

"Hah? What? I'm sorry what did you ask?" Scott should his head, and reached out
lovingly to his wife ~Darling what’s wrong?~ She gave him a reassuring smile
taking his hand and sat down in the chair beside him.

“It’s nothing Scott. I’m fine.”

Scott snorted. Which was a terribly unattractive habit, she made a mental note
to break him of it. "Jean we've only been in this meeting for almost a half
hour and you have been present for five minutes of it! So tell us what is
bothering you.”

“Yes Jean you have been immensely distracted lately.” The Professor added
equally concerned.

With a sigh Jean had to give in with a telepath as powerful as The Professor
and someone as observant as her husband around she didn’t have a prayer of
convincing them that nothing was bothering her.

“For a wile now I have been sensing a presence around the grounds. I just can’t
shake it.” She leaned back and started massaging her temples.

“I’ll go check the security system.” Scott got up and headed for the door.

“I already had Remy check.” Twice, as a matter of fact. She could tell he was
just humoring her but said nothing of it. “It showed nothing.” Jean said going
back to the window. “Can’t you feel it Professor.” She shivered. “It’s a cold
even lonely feeling one like I’ve never felt before.” Jean turned around to
face the concerned faces of the Professor and her darling husband.

The Professor joined her at the window. At first he didn’t feel it thin it hit
him like a brick wall. The loneliness and the determination of their visitor.

“She’s right Scott. There is someone out there. They’re hiding in the woods at
the far end of the grounds.

Before either of them could say another word Scott was out the door and down
the hall way.

-Have Henri meet me at the front door now!-

-He's on his way, Bobby is also with him.-

-That's why I love you, your always ahead of me.-

A mental chuckle resonated through his head.

~Why don’t you take Logan, he will be crossing your path any moment anyway.~ a
mental groan rippled through her head. She laughed ~His tracking skills will
come in handy not to mention his feral senses~ Scott agreed reluctantly. ~Oh
and by the way he is looking for someone to take his pent up aggression on~

That last thought was fallowed by uncontrollable laughter; he would get her for
this.

~Henri.~

~Yes Jean. What can I do for you?~

~We have a problem. The Professor and I picked up a presence in the forest at
the end of the property. Scott has requested your particular skills to search
the canopy. He has Logan with him now and there both heading for the door.~

~I am on my way, Bobby is also accompanying me.~ Jean sent him an accent.

With that they both were out the door.

Jean laughed, Scott is going to have more “help” then he bargained for.

Scott ran passed the kitchen.

“Hey! Scooter what’s goin’ on?” Scott skidded to a stop.

“Logan, just the nose I’ve been looking for.” Logan growled, as a smirk formed
on his face, he needed some excitement. “Jean and the Professor have sensed a
presence on the grounds. But nothing is showing up on the systems”

A long low growl punctuated by the sound of released adamantium.

“Lets go huntin’” and headed for the door.

“Hold on Logan, Jean said that Henri is on his way we have to wait for him.”

Scott didn’t hear Logan’s none to friendly dismissal of the request. “Ya right
One-eye. Like I will wait here wile some person is sniffing around my home.”

But luckily Henri and Bobby were getting to the door right as Logan had gone
out it with Scott closely behind.

Logan could sense someone was there -He sniffed the air- but even with his
heightened senses he couldn’t pinpoint were the intruder was. A rustling in the
trees caught his attention. He crept carefully to the base of the tree.

“Logan? What do you see?” Bobby was lurking over his shoulder. The kid could
really get annoying he really didn’t see how Henri put up with him. He looked
over to Scott.

“Don’t see a thing Slim, that’s the problem. I feel him rather then see him.”
He looked back at the tree. “And he’s up there I know it.” Scott nodded and
signaled Henri. Who had already taken to the trees. Hank took up position in
the nearest tree.

“NOW!”

And just like that the chase was on. Beast and the intruder jumping from tree
to tree. Wolverine’s body was made for chasing prey in a dense forest. But
Scott and Bobby were at a disadvantage on the ground, having to dodge and avoid
obstacles that those used it or in the branches did not. They were slowly
loosing site of the ongoing pursuit. Just as they were getting out of site hey
heard the sound of braking branches and a loud scream.

A distinctly female scream.

All three of them stopped and looked at each other.

“Did you just hear…?”

Bobby’s question was never finished for they all were off running towards the
sound.

They then came face to face with a young girl no older then 19, and from the
look of her she had been on her own for a wile.

She was definitely a mutant. Her eyes were the first thing that gave her away.
They were yellow cats eyes. The rest of her features were obscured by a big
black hood.

She was crouched down on all fours. Like an animal ready to fight or flee
depending on what the need maybe.

But on seeing Logan, Scott and Bobby coming into the clearing she decided on
the latter and turned to run. Henri dropped down from his perch, blocking her
only escape.

“It’s alright child we wish you no harm.” Henri said sweetly while spreading
his hands and distracting her so the other three could better surround her.

Sensing the movement she turned towards the approaching men and bared her
teeth. Sharp fangs were revealed. The hiss she made sent shivers down all four
x-men’s spines.

“We mean you no harm.” Scott said stopping the advance of his team.

“Be careful there is nothing worse then a cornered animal. She is definitely a
feral.” Scott nodded at Logan’s warning but paid it no heed and continued to
advance.

“There is no place for you to go so you mite as well calm down.” Her hiss as he
approached was quieter but none the less threatening. “Remember you came to us.”

Scott’s last comment must have hit home because she lowered her head in defeat.

“Come on my child lets sit down and talk.” Hank said coming up behind her
slowly, and indicating with his arms a fallen tree.

She stood with her head still down in defeat. Scott took a seat on one side of
her and Henri the other with Bobby plopped in front of her. Effectively
blocking all escape routs. Logan was pacing the clearing still wound up from
the hunt.

“Now, why don’t you…” Scott reached out to remove the hood that had some how
stayed in place throughout the entire chase. He was rewarded with a loud hiss
and a baring of teeth as she tried to bowl her way past Bobby who had his hands
full trying to keep her from escaping. “Ok, ok. I’m sorry I shouldn’t have done
that.” Scott apologized reaching up and lightly taking her arm and guiding her
back to the log, trying to sooth her.

“What’s your name my young one?” Henri asked placing a hand on her shoulder
gently pressing her back down. She whispered something. “What?”

“O alright! People call me O.” she yelled annoyed. She got up but this time
Bobby made no attempt to stop her. She started to pace the clearing like a
caged animal.

“O? is that short for something?” Bobby asked.

“Ya! Its short for a lot of things.” She started coming towards him. And Bobby
smartly stated to back up. “Its short for ‘Oh my God what is that?’ ‘Oh look at
that creature.’” She was still coming at him. Her yellow eyes flashing. She
backed the taller man up till he was up against a large tree, and he had no
place to go. “All of those names and many more were given to me, but all were a
bit long for most people so they just started to call me O. Does that satisfy
your curiosity?” Bobby dumbly shook his head.

She started pacing again. “I wasn’t doing anything anyways, I don’t see why you
people came after me. I just wanted to see what you guys were about.”

Logan growled. Unlike the others he had taken a good look around the clearing.
To the untrained eye it looked like just another spot in the woods but to him
it was a den. She must have been here for weeks.

“How long you been livin’ here kid?” Henri, Scott and Bobby finally looked
around and were surprised by there surroundings.

She shrugged “2 maybe 3 weeks.”

Logan snorted. “It took ya’ that long to figure out that we’r a school for
mutants?” Logan could smell she was lying.

“No, I figured that out after one day. It was just I didn’t know how to
approach getting in.” Logan could tell that was the truth but not the whole
truth. She was hiding something. But yet again, wasn’t all mutants that come
here hiding something.

She looked at Henri, a question was obviously on her mind.

“What is it young one?”

“Um what’s your name? Because I’ve been calling you ‘The Big Blue Teddy Bear’
in my head, but it seams to be a bit long for a first name.”

Henri laughed. “I’m sorry our little jaunt through the tree tops must have
shook loose my manors. My name is Dr. Henri McCoy” He gave a formal bow. And to
the surprise of everyone, O responded by giving him a full formal courtier
curtsy, using her cape as a skirt. Before anyone could ask the question that
was on everybody’s mind Hank quickly introduced Bobby who was running around
the campsite his curiosity peaked by how a person could live out in the woods
for so long with out any electronics. “And that bundle of energy is Robert
Drake.” With the mention of his name Bobby came running over with his arm out
stretched “They call me Iceman.”

“Why do they call you that.” Bobby noticed that she didn’t take his hand, but
being around Rouge all the time this didn’t bother him much. Instead, smoothly,
he made a beautiful ice bird appear in his hand. O took it her face a wash in
awe. Her face then turned to one of immense sadness. “What? Did I do something
wrong?” Bobby turned to Scott for help. But all Scott did was shrug helplessly.

“No, its not you. You did nothing wrong. It’s just you remind me of someone I
used to know along time ago.” She clung to the slowly melting little bird.

A snort. “Must not been to long ago, what are you 19?”

She turned to Logan, full of contempt. “So what if I am.”

“My names Scott Summers.” Scott again trying to regain order. “And the grumpy
one prowling around is Logan.” That obviously got her attention. She stood and
stared and Logan just glared back at her.

She gulped nervously and slowly approached him. Logan stood with his arms
crossed, the perfect picture of intimidation. She stood in front of him and
slowly extended a hand. A clawed hand. Logan looked at the hand with a quirked
eyebrow. Logan sighed and went to take her hand. “Pleasure to meet cha kid.”

The minute there hands came close a blue spark cracked between there hands.
They both pulled back more in surprise then pain. “Sorry that happens every
once in a wile.” She then turned to Bobby with a smile.

“That’s why I didn’t shake your hand.” Logan grunted.

“So you shook mine instead.” O turned back to him with a smirk, her former awe
forgotten.

“I figured if I didn’t offer to shake your hand, you would take offence.” Bobby
laughed.

“She’s got you there old man.” Logan didn’t know what it was about her but
there’s something odd about her and the faster he got her to Chuck the better.

“Come on girl lets go to the mansion.” He grabbed her wrist, and started to
drag her back to the mansion “Slim tell Jean we’re on the way.”

“Come on at least let me get my stuff.” She struggled against the steal
enforced grip.

“They can get it.” He said still dragging her. Scott wanted to say something
but he could tell that nothing he could say would change Wolverine’s mind on
this.

“Come on get her stuff and I’ll contact Jean.” Bobby giggled at the exasperated
leader.
