Discuss the Taiwan Question!

Listed below are some of the websites where discussion concerning the Taiwan Question takes place. Some are moderated, and others are even censored. Feel free to drop in and browse, or even jump into the fire. Consider yourself warned though, some of the pro-China posters are some of the most closed-minded radical people I have ever seen on the net.

Itaiwan.org This is a pro-Taiwan board. For the most part, rational discussion prevails here, though there are a couple of posters who are a little extreme in their pro-Taiwan beliefs. I am a moderator on these boards. See you there. (Registration required)

Chinese Nationalist Alliance This is an interesting board, perhaps the only one out there that is truly neutral. Posts are not censored (save for inflammatory posts) and free and open debate reigns, unlike on the Chinese dominated boards below which are heavily censored. There are, of course, the brainwashed Chinese and their supporters. However, the people who run the board are not amongst the brainwashed. In addition to discussion on the Taiwan issue, there are discussions on other aspects of Chinese culture. Drop in and take a look. Registration required)

Forumosa.com This is a Taiwan based board. Politics are not the focus here, but they are discussed. This focuses in such topics as living in Taiwan, studying Chinese, travelling, etc. There are many foreigners on these boards, but there are also a number of Taiwanese as well. (Registration required.

Sinopolitics.com : This is a pro-China board. They will tolerate pro-Taiwan posters for a while, but once they feel like they have lost to the superior logic and morality of the claim of the Taiwanese, they will disable your account. Many of the pro-China posters are rather intolerant and there is definately an Anti-U.S. and Anti-Taiwan bent to many of them. If you can take some abuse from CCP-brainwashed Chinese Sinoidiots, jump on in and enter the fray. (Registration is required to post, but not to browse).

Dragonsurf.com : This one isn't bad either, though it is down occasionally. Again, the pro-China posters are pretty harsh and not the most open-minded of people. Like Sinopolitics.com, personal insults are not uncommon. There is also a pro-KMT poster on there who denies the severity of 2-28. An interesting discussion board. There is no censorship on this board either. (Registration is required to post, but not to browse).

E Taiwan News: This is a little used board that has a single forum. It is based in Taiwan, but it is an open forum where posters can post on virtually any topic. There is no censorship and registration is not required to post.

China Daily The China Daily from China. This board is censored, though not as hevily as some of the other Chinese and pro-Chinese sites. Posts don't appear immediately as I suspect they are screened before they are permitted to appear. (No registration required.)

People's DailyThis is a forum run by the People's Daily of China. It is actually a pretty good board. However, it is heavily censored and IP addresses have been banned. Still, worth a look if you want to see just how rediculous the Chinese can be.
