The Anglican Church is up in arms about the ordination of a gay bishop. According to the protestors, god hates homosexuals. Well now, god also hates gentiles, and all the protestors are gentiles. God also hates adulterers, cripples, the blind, drunks, fornicators, and people who work on Saturdays. Many of the people objecting to the appointment fall within one or more of those categories. How come they tolerate bishops who work on the sabbath, the punishment for which is death, yet they reject a gay bishop?
How come they attend church in the first place, when Jesus forbade public worship?
Never has the word "hypocrite" been more appropriate.
For two thousand years the church has thrived by enforcing its view on others. Anyone who held alternative views to the church, or looked like they might hold alternative views to the church, was tortured, drowned, hanged or burned to to death.
Followers of the church regret the passing of the good old days, because now they're the ones being forced to change. Luckily for them, homosexuals are content to apply political pressure rather than the eye gouge, the red-hot poker, and the breast crusher.
When the church lost the right to torture and murder people, its fate was sealed. When society engaged its brain and rejected the concept of hell, the final nail was driven into the church coffin. Apart from third world Catholic countries and pockets of retards here and there, people have rejected church terror. And that's all it ever had. Therefore the church is doomed, for it has nothing else to offer.
