SITE OWNER'S NOTES:

The following pages include a joint article which appeared in the September, 1993 issue of HOT WIRE - The Journal of Women's Music & Culture. This quarterly magazine was edited/published by a dedicated group of volunteer women for 10 years, until September '94, under the inspiration & supervision of its founder, Toni Armstrong Jr. Within HOT WIRE, this article was titled: Little Amazons In The Arts and placed in the ACCESS section, which was designed to "present viewpoints and information about issues of accessibility within the women's music and culture network."

This article's original idea came about as... Toni Jr., (ie. since her mother is also Toni, Sr., also now an extremely dear friend), and I had only met and become friends about 2 years before this piece was published. Our primary connection was through my then newly blossoming interest in womyn's (ie. mostly from the lesbian perspective) music and Toni's vast knowledge of the same, along with mutual interests and abilities in other art forms, eg. photography.

My friendship with Tekki was almost 10 years older, through our membership and acquaintance in LPA (ie. Little People Of America). I soon introduced Tekki to Toni Jr. because of our shared interests in the arts & feminism. Hearing that Tekki was herself an artist as a poet, prose & playwrite for the theatre, etc. Toni suggested the two of us collaborate in writing an article, sharing our collective/individual thoughts & experiences as dwarf women, attempting to share our artistic views with society "at large" and, for me, coming out as a lesbian, the 1st openly LesBiGay person, (ie. or "Q-LP") in LPA!

In 1994, this article was reprinted, with permission, (ie. in 2 segments) for 2 issues of LPA Today, the national newsletter for The Little People of America. The following web pages are the product of those presentations, along with some additions and/or changes for updates, etc.! Again, the first part of this article, was written by Tekki L., and the next segment, the longer of the two, was written by myself.

Finally, all of this writing/photography to the conclusion of this article is copywritten to the authors and the original editor/publisher. The content of these pages cannot be duplicated/reprinted and/or republished without express written permission of said authors & publisher. Writing & photography (eg. Toni's original black & white photos, others' color photos, etc.) credits must be printed in bold as one of the conditions of that tentative agreement.

Please email any requests to this page's transcriber and such requests will be submitted to all by relay. Otherwise, please feel free to comment or give your opinions about this and/or other writings you find on my linked pages, by emailing me below or through other email addresses associated with my pages.
