July 15, 1875 Obituary:
Mrs. Frances A. COMPTON died May 21, 1875. She was born in Fort Bend County [Texas]
September 15, 1836; was married November 23, 1854 to B.W. COMPTON; and united with the
Baptist church at Montgomery in 1855. "It was an affecting scene to witness that . . . husband
and children part with that mother and wife, as fiends consigned her remains to the grave,
holding in the embrace of her lifeless corpse an infant son. They rest side by side with her
daughter, Mary who died a year ago, about eight years of age." She is survived by her
husband and six children.
Signed: G.W. Green. Bedais, June 20th, 1875.
