Ungrouped Chemistry Classes

Hi!  My name is Lou Polsinelli and the Chemistry Workshop is the name I have given my first year Chemistry classes at Cleveland Heights High SchoolThe Chemistry Workshop is a course designed to build your student's knowledge base in the traditional areas of Chemistry, while at the same time improving his/her academic skills.

Last year, these students took Biology.  Biology is primarily conceptual, while Chemistry is both conceptual and quantitative.  This represents a step up in difficulty for most students.  However, Chemistry will help students mature intellectually, because they will need to think on multiple levels at the same time.

As the name "Chemistry Workshop" says, it is a WORKSHOP; your student will learn by doing (reading, writing, discussing, thinking, researching, exploring, etc.).  Over the course of the school year, my students learn a lot of Chemistry and become more proficient in many areas, including reading, verbal and written communication, and analysis/synthesis.

The purpose of this Web site is to give parents and students 24 hour access to information about my class.

The Class Information page tells you about the "nuts and bolts" of the class.  The information on that page remains rather static.

The Newsletter page allows you to view both the current and previous newsletters, in case your student did not share it with you.

The Homework page allows you to view the current homework assignments (two weeks), and the assignments for the previous two weeks.

The Announcements page will give you dates of important class and school events.

The Extra Credit page describes any extra credit projects available to students.
