"Oh, well! Never was there ever a cat so clever as magical Mr. Mistoffelees!" Misto has always been one of my favorite characters, probably because he's so quiet and small and affectionate. His character throughout the musical is always front and center, playful, shy, and sweet. Like all Jellicles, he is very proud and is always the first to dance at the Jellice Ball. But is greatest about him by far is his magical ability. He lights up the stage with sparks and is famous for his Conjuring Turn, a turn of five spins without stopping. |

His admirers: Misto so shy he's hardly noticed, though everyone is fond of him. Victoria is constantly at his side, and the Rum Tum Tugger seems to think a great deal of him. Who he admirers: Old Deauteronomy. He seems, like the rest of the Jellices, drawn to the old cat and loves to pounce on him or hide behind him when trouble is near. Victoria. It is my oft-repeated belief that Misto has a crush on Victoria, a white young female he is hardly ever seen without. She is gifted at dancing and he seems very gifted too, for he |

dances with Victoria at the beginning of hte Jellicle ball and there are several scenes where he's frolicking about and boastng of his dancing abilities. Bustopher Jones. Misto seems to admire him in particular. He is very excited when the St. James Street cat arrives and is one the main characters in the scene. He runs up behind Bustopher and affectionantely pulls his tail. He also catches the fat cat when he nearly tumbles off the stage. He stands behind Bustopher as he is speaking of food and makes a scene of licking his lips. It's very clear he holds Busto in high regard, and I always wondered if the two weren't related. Dislikes: It seems at first that there is some rivalry between Misto and Rum Tum Tugger (possibly over Victoria, who is one of tbe main females chasing Tum). But the Tugger steadfastly holds Misto in high regards and when Misto later recieves his praise all dislike is forgotten. |
