Clouds
drift across the full, bright evening moon
covering its brightness
until it can be seen no more,
such as it is for
one lost and anguished spirit,
the clouds covering
the once bright heart,
one which used to
dance with happiness,
one which used to
feel full of life, of love,
but then the end came,
and this was felt no more.
Yes, as the clouds
drift across the night sky,
so these same clouds
drift over this lone spirit,
covering in darkness
the feelings once there.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
But what is one to do who experiences this?
There is no question about it; go to the desert,
deep into the wilderness, far from any maddening crowds,
far away from all interruptions, to reflect on one's life,
trying to determine what went wrong, or what went right.
But this spirit is not totally alone for there is Father Sky
and Mother Earth there with her, and the ever present wolf spirit
that howls continuously in its lament, mirroring her sadness
which sweeps across her in never ending waves of pain.
This spirit, yes, is her constant companion, always there.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
She cries the tears for all who have lost something
or someone.
She cries the tears for all who have been treated unjustly.
She cries the tears for all those who have been cheated.
She cries the tears for all who have suffered at the hands of another.
She cries the tears for all that is tearing at her inside.
But in the desert, in the wilderness, she will find peace,
for these others, for herself, for her sanity, for humankind.
She continues to follow the ghostly spirit of the wolf
on their journey to find this all for everyone else, not for herself.
As she travels she listens to the songs in the winds, and the howl of the wolf.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
Why does she travel to this place and still continue
on her trek?
She does because she is afraid to stop, afraid to let anyone down,
afraid of herself. Yes, this is part of the feelings which consume her.
Both these ghostly shadows continue their journey deep into the night,
losing all track of time, becoming surprised at the coming of the sunrise.
But they are on a mission, not for themselves but for others,
to find the answers that will help all who have lost something or someone,
that will help all those who have been treated unjustly,
that will help all those who have been cheated in some way,
that will take the pain from all those who have suffered at the hands of another.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
sun high in the sky.
This journey continues with time being nothing
more than a speck of sand,
something not important for only the well being of others is.
Now they journey side by side, silent now, in one mindset as they continue
deep into the desert, far away from all others, looking for answers.
They stop momentarily, stare deeply at each other, a silent message between
the two,
then both look to the sky, at the clouds continually gathering, and
to the mountains far off in the distance. Once again they set off in their
search,
one that must bring balance and harmony for all they care and think about.
Wearying at the end of the day, they stop for the night, one that will prove
to be
sleepless, yet they stay here while the wolf spirit again howls - a lamenting
sound.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
The howl continues, again mirroring the feeling
deep inside of its companion.
She sits quietly beside this wolf spirit, casually running her hand through
its fur,
watching the onset of night as some stars struggle to be seen through the clouds.
Again they look at each other, this time with much sadness, wondering where
their
answers are hidden, deep in the clouds in the night sky, its darkness now foreboding.
Tears stream down her face as she thinks of all that has been suffered by others,
of all that she has suffered herself, wondering if this will ever come to an
end,
while the wolf lies down giving her a pillow to rest her head as she leans
back against him.
Together they spend yet another night deep in the desert, and hewatches
while she has a fitful night of sleep, seeing all that has bothered her replay
in dreams.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
Their journey seems never ending even with such
signs as an eagle flying overhead
the next morning, guiding them in their quest to find the answers in the clouds.
But the answers never seem to materialize no matter how long they search,
this quest seeming to last many lifetimes. The answers are still well hidden.
She is never heard from again by those who know her. But on a quiet night in
the desert,
if one listens and watches intently, especially on a dark, cloudy night,
a pair of shadows can be seen, continuing side by side, still looking for the
answers
that will relieve the troubles faced by others, and in the daylight, one can
hear
the howl of the wolf spirit and the cries of its companion, feeling their presence.
They will continue through eternity in their constant vigilance, and quest.
And the clouds continue to cover the once bright
moon high in the sky.
