My name is Louis Olivencia and I was born in the United States, New York City. Thank you for visiting this web page. We have collected a group of paintings that can best represent Louis Olivencia as an artist. Together with parallel activities, fabric design, fashion, and visual merchandizing were all formed between two prestigious art schools: Art & Design and the Parsons School of Design. In 1977 I moved to Berlin, Germany where I worked in the fashion world, as a costume designer for the late director Fassbinder. Sometime after, I move to Italy, first Florence then Ferrara which is my home base currently. I work with gouache and gold pigment powders, to achieve the translucency. A harmony which cioncides with the contemporary. "Olivencia reveals an extremely original style: composition becomes more tightly organized, colours are vivid intensified by form, light envelopes the figures defining shapes, and enhancing, imposing tone! The quest for fullness in shape in geometric style, is all a part of this artist. Impassioned, constant study makes this artist refined, new in it's intence illustrative fervour; indisputably, the figure dominates all else. The creative vigour is never hidden, to be admired."
