What's happening in San Francisco?
There is always something happening in San Francisco! Great food, theater... We hope that while you are here you can take time to enjoy some of the things that San Francisco is known for. One of the Best on-line resources for what's happening in and around San Francisco is Bay Area City Search. You can search for events by month, this way you can find out things that are happening around town at the time you will be here.
One of the local theater favorites is Beach Blanket Babylon. The show first premiered in June 1974 is described in their web site the "a zany musical spoof of pop culture with extravagant costumes and outrageously huge hats...[It] continually evolves in its hilarious parodies of popular icons, updating its spoofs and adding new characters, songs, and send-ups throughout the year." It's a must!
The California Wine Country... It speaks for it self. Good food, shopping, golfing, beautiful scenery, and of course lots of wine.

Within a few days of our
wedding celebration is the annual San
Francisco Pride Celebration. The celebration starts in the later afternoon
of Saturday June 24 with the Dyke March. The end of the march leads into
an all out street party called Pink Saturday held at Castro and Market
Streets. The Parade begins the next morning Sunday June 25 with the infamous
Dykes on Bikes! This celebration is the biggest tourist attraction
and money maker every year for our fair city! If you plan on being here
for the parade let us know, we want to
get a group together and get bleacher seats! Click here to see Highlights
from Pride 1999.
Also happening around our wedding is the 24th annual San Francisco International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival sponsored by Framline. The last few years have unveiled number of films that played in main stream movie theaters all over the world. Catch them first here! Most of the films are shown a the historic Castro Theater. One of the attractions of this theater (besides the original art deco interior design) is the Wurlitzer theater pipe organ that is played before every show and the last song that plays before the lights go down is always "San Francisco Open Your Golden Gate."
