When God had made the earth and sky, the flowers and the trees, he then made all the animals, the fish, the birds and bees. And when at last he finished not one was quite the same.He said, "I'll walk this world of mine and give each one a name".And so he travelled far and wide and everywhere he went a little creature followed him until it's strength was spent.

When all were named upon the earth and in the sky and sea the little creature said "Dear Lord, there's no name left for me".Kindly the father said to him "I've left you to the end.I've turned my own name back to front and call you Dog, my little friend."

On November 15, 1995, Boomie, our beloved little friend came into our lives. He was just a small bundle of fur. A co-worker had a litter of pups to give away and I went to see what she had. I had Boomies sister picked up, but she said they were planning on keeping her but the other "little guy" was available. I picked him up and took him home in my jacket. My friend Sonnie said "No puppies here". When Boomie peeked his head out and looked at Sonnie that soon changed. Boomie was so full of life and he was so loving. We trained him to shake paw, left first, then the right paw and he always did it in that order. We even had him litter trained on those days it was to cold to go outside. If he was going to be sick he even went to the litter box himself. What a smart boy he was. Everyone that came in contact with him took to him, even the ladies at Tim Hortons, a coffee and doughnut shop. It came that we had to have Boomie neutered as he had signs of cancer. Everything for him seemed to go down hill from then on. He had developed Addisons Disease which affected his appetite and his heart. Boomie was put on medication for his heart problems as well as several other medications. He slowly gained too much weight, an effect of one of the pills which caused him to retain water and fluid, which in turn caused him to loose the use of his back legs. He still had a lust for life though and enjoyed Sonnies company. The two were inseperatable. Everywhere Sonnie went, Boomie was there.

On January 26, 2004, I got the phone call that Boomie had passed away at 6:45 am. All of us were devastated. Our little guy was gone. We went down to Sonnies and there he was laying on his favourite blanket. He looked like he was sleeping. I petted him and gave him a kiss on his little head and said goodbye. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Sonnie was so beside himself that his little friend was gone. It was so heart wrenching to watch him go through this. We decided to have him cremated and his ashes are in an urn. Sonnie, as his last wish wants Boomie to go with him when his time comes and so it will be, two great friends at rest together. The staff at the vets were simply amazing the way they dealt with Boomie, they all looked foward to seeing him and caring for him. No one could ask for better people. Boomie had so many people in his life and he was loved greatly. He left this world a happy dog and that's all anyone could ever ask for. Boomie, I miss you so much, but I know you suffer no more. I love you so much. We will meet again in Heaven, never to be parted again.
