God,
I pray that this war can be avoided, we all do. But if it is your will that there be war, please help us to understand why. I think it would be impressive that when the weapons of destruction begin to fly, Your divine and miraculous intervention will render them useless. Such a lesson can be clearly understood. I think. The aggressors would surly take it as a sign in their favor. Perhaps, those who would right the wrong done to Kuwait would take it as a sign to resolve the conflict by other means. Certainly, all the world would take notice that You are still interested in human kind. In any case, if war must happen, let the power of righteousness conquer that of evilness, utterly and completely. And after all is over, let the leaders of the world pause and ponder the how and why of the circumstances leading to the killing. More importantly, cause them to take action so that the killing does not have to happen again for those or similar reasons. It is and always has been puzzling why one evil man can cause such hatred, pain, suffering. He rose to power by evil deeds, and the rest of the world turned a deaf ear and blind eye to his actions. Is that the lesson we must learn from this war? Do nothing to defeat the early evil or there is a more evil price to pay later. Let the leaders of the world take notice of the death and suffering of their sons and daughters for their lack early action. But it will be mostly American lives that are lost, this is most difficult to understand. Unless it is our leaders who have acted the least. Is Israel the ultimate real target of this evil man? To bring all Arabian and Moslem against Your chosen people? Such are the signs of the last days. After all the past false signs, is this one the true one? Again, if war must happen, let it be swiftly finished. Comfort the families who loose a son, daughter, father or mother. Ease the pain of suffering which the injured and wounded must endure. Help all of us to help others in their time of sorrow and need. We ask for mercy upon us all, friend and foe alike.
Scratched into the fence a few yards away is "I will shake the world again, saith the Lord." It's dated 1-2-91. Will you shake the world this time? Will the people of the world tremble in fear of Your wrath at their petty differences? Will Hebrew, Christain, and Moslem pray together for mercy?

God,
Why must the Iraqian people suffer? They have done no wrong. Their leader has, but not they themselves. Hundreds of thousands dead, common men forced into a war they did not want. Yet their leader live, to reek vengeance upon his own people for his own displeasure over the turn of events. The same is true for all wars, the common folk suffer the whims of governments. Please, I beg of You, remove the source of this evil, this Saddem Hussein and his murderous followers. Let the Iraqian people live in peace, the Kurds, the Shite, Sunni and all the others.
Thousands of miles beyond the eastern horizon, they suffer through another night. Youths killed just because of their youth. Mother's cry for the lost of their youth, other forced into the killing of others. There should be no place on this Earth for such, yet great nations stand by and do nothing to stop the evil. They tried, or so it would seem, to defeat this evil. But their efforts fell short of the mark.
