Churchill's Every Watching Peer Toward London

With that facial expression of a gentleman who just now had his cigar snachted away and with that deep, rolling voice uttering an endless stream of choice words and phrases, Sir Churchhill addresses the world.

**********
The target of its ill-gotten missiles has been and is still the States. Its intended victim an abstract deamon within its own mind.
The twin building it struck down did indeed stand upon bedrock within the sovereignity of the States. A fortnight later, the steel and concrete that composed their core still lays as a ruinious tomb for the dead within.
I suspect from its silence that even it has been dumbfounded by the reality of the destruction.
The impact of metal flying into a facade surrounding the structural core was tremendous. The shockwave shot down to the bedrock below. Yet the buildings received their mortal blow with strength. They solidly stood without a sign of moving. They waited. They waited for thousands of common people to escape. They waited to see the beginning of their attackers own demise.
Some hundred miles to the west, other common people, airline passengers, the same as those whose life was so horrendously ended in an outline of a plane upon the building's wall, struck back at the terror. Their sacriface and courage must be and shall be equaled by our own. The offense against terrorism had begun before the first tower of strength gave way to its wound. Their collapse sent another shockwave into the bedrock.
Those shockwaves in the bedrock at the epicenter of human tragedy reverburated across a nation and continent. It traveled through the bedrock beneath the oceans to all continents to shake all nations.
Its aim was at a pair of buildings in the States alone. It missed its target. It blindly murder the citizens of more than forty nations. It indiscrimantly commited attrocities upon most every race and ethnicity including its own.
Within this fortnight during the aftermat of the dasterly deed, we have already backtracked its trail to scores of its lairs around the world. We will cut off the blood and oxygen that feeds it. We will dig and claw at its underground roots with our barehands, with the same fever as we dig away at the rubble of the destruction it has caused to rescue suvivors and retreive our dead, till other cancerous tumors are found and removed from our body.
From the greatest to the least of us who stand against it, there must be and will be no single leader. We will each stand shoulder to shoulder as equals. We will march broadly and boldly through every battlefield where it reeks terror and havack. Its eyes and ears will be made blind and deaf. Its arms and hands, its legs and feet that do its bloody work will be cut off. The trunk of its body will be chopped up and left to its own decay. In the end there will be only its insane head as the deamonic voices within torment its own existence.

Dear Local Terrorist:
Dear Local Terrorists:

Are you sure? Are you really, truely, absolutely, positively sure of your reasons and actions? Are you, individually and personally as a human, as your parent's son, possibly as a brother, husband, father, sure the ends justify the means? Are you sure you and you alone can stand before Allah's judgement and defend your soul from His "Do not kill and murder" and "No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself" rules? Are you sure? ....
Excerpts from my posts at CNN Discussion
* "Wag the Dog, Part II"
In reality you should expect all the players (that means absolutely everyone in the game) to take full advantage of the card dealt them to increase their own self interests and position of influence, control and power.

* obl is no longer Muslim or never has been. he claims to be but his words and actions indicate he is not. That's the same as some individuals who claim to be Christian but the way they live their lives indiciate they're not.

* he's broken most every basic tentiment of Islam and jihad. That makes him non-Muslim and the infidel and the heritic in the Islamic world. The jihad he calls for from the rest of world's Muslims is a call for a jihad against himself and all terrorist like him.

* Exerpts from links about Islamic jihad.
http://www.africaonline.com/site/Articles/1,3,2728.jsp
”Religious wars fought in the name of the jihad are false,” Charfi said. “In the Koran, the jihad is referred to only as a legitimate action of self-defense, and can never be used as an offensive action.”
http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/2001/10/18/muslimmemo/index.html
The culture of hate and killing is tearing away at the moral fabric of the Muslim society. We are more focused on "the other" and have completely forgotten our duty to Allah. In pursuit of the inferior jihad we have sacrificed the superior jihad.
http://philippines.com.ph/ColonialRP/jihad2.htm
Classically, no action can be justified as jihad if any of the following occurs: killing of non-combatants, POWs, or diplomatic personnel; use of poison weapons (originally pertaining to poison-tipped arrows and swords); inhumane means to kill; atrocities including mutilation of people and animals and despoliation of natural resources; and sexual abuse of women. 4 Following such criteria, a Muslim should not kidnap, rape, murder (like killing civilians, executing captives and hostages, and bombing public places full of people), and desecrate the sacred places of other religions (like burning churches and eliminating crosses).

* It mostly reads like a revolutionary manifesto.
It's been characterised a sign of desperation. But it's frustration. he fully expected all the Muslims around the world to fall in behind his lead. So now he's already turning his attention to those other Islamic nations who he sees as not being true Muslims. he was frustrated by the States lack of response to previous terrorist attacks and he increased the magnitude of them. he will do the same again. Will it be the United Nations? One of the untrue Islamic nations?

* This discussion/message board and others on the internet are accurate samplings of the whole. Maybe and maybe not.
There's always been the more vocal ones who attract the greater attention of the whole. It's something along the lines of he who talks the most and loudest wins the debate. And then they're those who make the most absurb statements some of which are posted to inflame emotions. The logic and accuracy of their statements and arguements have little to do with the debate.
You have to include what's implied in the sampling but not actively participating. They are the thousands of readers who don't post messages.
It is in that respect that these boards accurately represent the whole. It is the few who post their opinions, thoughts and attract attention. And then it is the general population who just read, formulate their own opinions and thoughts. Then they maybe just talk among themselves in the real world.
If these types of forums were a collective effort to solve the problems of the world, where is the better change of finding a solution? Among the ideas of the few who post them or of the many who don't?

* Yesterday morning, about this time I think, someone else made a post with reference to "(the terrorists) they're already in the house."
Yes. And for the homeowner the most important person in his and his family's life has suddenly become the man (or men) with the gun standing in front of him.
If they're drug addicts looking for money to support their habits does the homeowner think of or even care about some drug cartel in South America, Mideast poppy growers, or big city crime boss in the States?
Does he study, ponder, debate with himself or them about the social, economic, religious reasons and causes that brought them to his house?
His only concern and thoughts are how to deal with the local terrorists in his immediate future.
Every well known person and name, the government, political, and terrorism leaders that will be recorded in the history books suddenly become minor footnotes in his life.
It appears the local homeowners are left to deal with the local terrorists in their house, as best they can.

* Economically.
next 1 or 2 quarterly reports will indicate how quickly the recession will proceed. There will probably be some suggestion of how long the depression will last too. As the economies in the world shut down the oil and global company issues become mute. There'll be less and less demand for oil, the producing countries will cut back to keep the price up and spiral the economy downward. There'll be less and less exploitation of laborers since most everyone will be without work then.
One the other side though, the life expectance of the oil resources will be extended by a few decades and the air will clear up.

Politically.
Politics in the States will be much the same. Those who were inclined to do so anyway will (have already) increase their self interests legislation. More and more pork-barrel spending. The usual and regular issues will return, most all the politically active groups will return to their particular self interests.
It will be much the same in the other countrys too. Everyone's special interest groups will go back to their business as before. All the foreign policies will remain as they were before. All the usual conflicts.

* The Nine-Eleven Generation.
They will grow up and live through a world depression, the same as the Thirties depression. Terrorism attacks will be as expected as those that have become expected else where in the world.

* Let me see if I understand your thinking Omar.
Allah will totally destroy America, lightening from the skys, extinction by acts of men doing Allah's will and bidding.
[Jerry looks out the cave opening at the Afghan landscape (physical, political, religious), thinks of the recent events in world history as well as Afghan history. Jerry turns his gaze back to Omar.]
So Omar, what do you think Allah is telling us about the taliban, obl, terrorism, murdering innocent men, women and children by the thousands, oppression of human dignity and the freedoms Allah wanted all His children to have?
[Jerry ponders some other's Holy Writings, the Christian part of the Bible, Revelations. Words about evil men running to the hills and mountains, hiding in caves, calling on the mountians to fall upon them to protect them from God's wrath.]
I really shouldn't be here, Omar. I think I'll go stand somewhere in the States and await Allah's judgment of their sins.

* Ignorance of a Nation's Foreign Policy.
No, we common folk are not ignorant of what their governments do, just basically helpless and at the mercy of their decisions.
The sanctions and embargos against Iraq has been cited as a reason for the attacks on the States. So has the so-called foreign policies of the States in general in the MidEast. This common folk person knew what the effects of embargos would be from the beginning and wrote such in May 1990. It would be the people of Iraq that suffered while one nation tried to force another bad leader to do such and such. Another example of expecting a rational decision from an irrational mind. More recently when the then current President, Congress vetoed lifting the sanctions and Albright's opinion of the consequences, this common folk person cringed and thought another bad decision that would come back to haunt the States.
But I'm just another common nobody in the world, what I think doesn't matter, it's only those individuals in a position of power that makes a diff.
So what is terrorism's foreign policy in the world? What is their leadership's thinking? Kill the innoncent common folk with car bombs, talk one common folk young person into blowing themselves up along with other common folk people, hijack planes and crash them into buildings to kill more common folk people [insert vivid, graphic images of what happens to a human body during such a crash and burn here].
Did it ever cross their minds that they were probably killing people who thought and believed the sanctions against Iraq are wrong and ineffective, just like them? Did it ever cross their minds that the common folk of Afganistan would have to suffer the consequence of their own foreign policy?
Oh well, I'm just an ignorant common folk nobody, one of some 6 billion in the world, and it makes no diff.

* They were the quasi-MIG squadrons in Arizona. The pilots talked in Russian, acted like they were MIG pilots all the time, eat, drink, sleep and think Russian attitudes. It was all suppose to help them fly like the real MIG pilots during the dogfight trainings.
It's doubtful, even by now, that any of those intelligence agencies have thought of doing a similar stragedy for quasi-terrorist cells. It would probably provide some extra insight into how they think, what to expect, what not to expect. It introduces the intangible human factors that are not in any the hi-tech methods they are using now.
Old school, old continent spy methods have got left behind on the launch pad for the high-flying digital electronics.

* Improving infiltration capabilities still carrys along that Covington delimma, one can not act on intelligence gathered without revealing sources, methods or that you even have the intelligence. It does provide a way of verifing a quasi-terrorist cell's reliability. If your cell is ahead of your adversaries' cell in their thinking then you have the advantage. And then one can act upon it with minimum risks.
"... those thoughts have passed the minds of many ..." past tense, they're having to play catch up now just to get to the interpreting stage. The intelligence communities should have been in the predicting stages for the last 10 years, or at least accurate predicitions. They are always precursors to events. These were missed because the mindset of the terrorist cells was grossly underestimated.
Where does that leave predicitions about the remaining terrorist cells? Or even actions of terrorism's leadership?

* Today and the next three days will be critical in the States ... and Europe ... and elsewhere. It's an American holiday, another symbolic target date. All you people take care, Allah be with you and keep you safe.
That basically means everyone watch out for signs of your local terrorist activity.

* They were called the civil shore patrol and civil air patrol during the second war. Groups of common people looked for signs of shore landings and unknown aircraft. It's a different attitude between then and now. Then it was everyone's responsiblity to be on alert and help out by whatever means. Now it's let officials and government entities take care of everything.
It's been 60 plus days. The high alert status should have maxed out a few days after the shock had worn off and the new reality set in. It should have been, and always be, maxed out from now on.
What has the Homefront Office done concerning the armed thieves already in the house? Where's the civil counter-terrorism patrols? What are the signs to look for and what are the signs to ignore? What's acceptable, reasonable behaviour, what's not? What are they probably doing now, where, how? Have they gone into another semi-dormant mode? Roaming through the house scoping out other targets? Actively making preps for another?
It's past eleven o'clock, approaching midnight. Do you know where your local terrorists are?

* It's been learned from a professor at a university that the current generation of young people may have tagged themselves already. The Nine-One-One Generation or Nine Eleven Generation.
Don't really know what that implies. A new generation living with terrorism. Or one having to live out their days dealing with the aftermath of tragedy. Or one waking up from the shock of a recurring nightmare of past generations. Or it's a new serious and risky business kind of life in their future years.
Then again there's just the simple 911 EMS analogy. The rescue technicians who race out in ambluences to save what's left of humanity from the mess some in the adult world have created.

* Assuming they were trained and conditioned to expect substantial support from other Islamic nations or peoples, and given that hasn't materialized as anticipated by their leaders, the local terrorists may be somewhat doubtful of their actions and goals. It's kind of like the prophet promised thus and so but he is now being revealed as a false prophet even to his followers since his predictions have failed.
Probability of another attack in the near future gets taken down a couple or three points. ... But not really enough to lower any watchfulness or alertness.

* "... I'm not afraid of death. ..." A Feudian slip for accepting the end? Maybe. The interview dealt mostly with the reality of the events going on around them. There was little if any philosophical or religous implications. If there had, it would have been, "I look forward to the next life ...." And then that could have been a Feudian slip for it's not over yet.

* But personally even that would be delusional. It's impossible for me to grasp the concept of showing up at the gate to paradise or heaven, banging on the latches, calling out to Allah, "I've killed men women children, I've created much hate and suffering, all in the name of Islam and Allah. ... Let me in."

* Who they are, most likely ...
Men from the Mideastern countries and been incountry about five years or less. They're between 20 and 45 years old, more or less. They're living in rented apartments, houses, motels and hotels, probably in groups of two and three, maybe alone. More likely to be apart from rather than a part of an ethnic community. No indications of a regular job or other common activity. Pay bills and expenses by cash, don't think they'd use credit cards anymore. Either in their dormant mode and not doing much of anything, watching news reports, reading discussion boards to pass the time. Or actively pursuing the next target traveling around the country scoping things out, more motels and hotels. Or actively setting up the next target, already on the inside doing the job they've been trained and conditioned to do. Looking for hotels with internet connections, out-of-towner visitors at librarys with connections. Buying unusal amounts of materials that don't quite fit their dress and demeaner. Asking questions that don't feel quite right for the setting.
Who they are not, most likely ...
Men from the Mideastern countries with families, or part of families, and been incountry more than five years, even decades or generations. Home and apartment owners with regular jobs and activities, more likely part of their ethnic communities and the greater American community. Pay bills with checks and credit cards or small amounts of cash and buy things most everyone else buys. Talk the usual gossip talk, jobs, business, family, school, college, prices.

* What are the local terrorists thinking? [Local being your particular neighborhood in the world.]
It depends upon what they were promised by their leaders and how that compares to what has and is happening. Things are either proceeding as expected, or not, or something in between.
The military response in Afghanistan would have been expected, along with an anticipated infidel solider presence on the ground. It was the latter that was delayed and thus the taunts at the Americans to fight them on the ground. From the terrorist training films there's that type of combat that they were trained for as well. So, it becomes a matter of what level of military response they expected, probably something similar to the Soviet experience of the 80s.
There were the repeated calls for all Muslims to come and join their version of jihad, an indication of an expected uprising among the Muslim world against the States. This did not materialize to the level they were expecting. In fact the magnitude of the attack turned this against them.
Did they expect the States to go it alone or with only two or three usual allies? The unity of a significant part of the rest of the world against them may not have been anticipated. In their mind the enemy was and is the States alone, they never made the connection to it being an attack on most of the world as well.
And then there's that returned package and letter from on of the hijackers to his girl friend. "... after it's done everyone will be happy ..." or words to that effect. It's another indication that much success, from their point of view, was expected.
In the end, there will be the hard core terrorists, nothing much has changed with them. Then they're the others who are probably having second thoughts and doubts in various degrees. Have there been any silent, unknown defections? It all depends upon exactly what was promised by their leaders and how much or how little has been delivered.

* Sometimes it gets really scary when reading this message board ... and others as well over the years. Everywhere there are troubled waters violently eroding away sanity from humanity into a dark abyss.
Making do.
They took away my wife's fingernail file. I suppose I'll just have to make do with a folded up handkerchef in the palm of my hand and a writing pen.

They found the can of pepper spray and took it too. I'll just have to make do with asking for extra packets of salt and pepper with the inflight meal. I sure hope the attendent doesn't think much of why so many.

They didn't think much the medallion I worn around my neck beneath my shirt. I couldn't convince them it was an award for a fist fight. So they took the brass knuckles too. I'll just have to make do with the heavy metal buckle on the end of a swinging belt.

They took my youngest son's slingshot, but that was to be expected. I mindlessly fiddled with the extra pair of shoelaces and scrap of heavy cloth; told my wife how nice she looked in her necklace of small, steel spheres. They will have to do.

The toy darts and blowgun were tossed in the bin with all the other children's toys. I asked the attendent for a couple of drinking straws and gave my daughters their small bead braclets to play with.

When they served the drinks and snacks, I got us all canned soft drinks, "Un-opened please, we'll drink them later." I gave them to my teenage son to tie up in the extra towels from his sports bag and to stash them away for later. Everyone has to make do.

I walked to the back of the plane to use the lavatory. Smiled and friendly nodded at the Near Eastern man with his family; quietly noted where the three or four lone travelers were.

As I passed the attendants' station I looked for the fire extinguisher, how the hot coffee and cups were arranged, where they stored the small liquor bottles, packages of plastic knives and forks. They're not boiling oil, rocks and stones, or spears and swords but most anything that would make do.

God keep us from another when, but if the time arrives, my words may not make the history books as those of Paul Revere. Maybe "Heads up men, Flight 93 defense!" will have to do.

THC's are as much a couriousity as ever.
On the 60 Miniutes show last evening, Andy Rooney did his talk about the recent events. He mentioned the president's speech to congress and made reference to it not being Sir Churchill quality. Over the weekend I had started my own comparison like that and even started composing what I imagined Sir Churchill would have addressed to the rest of the world. But I learned I'm no match to that high water mark in World Class Statesmanship either. Or his endless repoitre of choice words and phrases.
And then there was some brief reference to some part of all them billions allocated to combat terrorism being used as a reward fund.
There's an occassion reference in whatever news I happen upon about something I've thought about too. But I guess those are just the minor THCs since others have probably thought the same.

     But anyway ....
"You're either with US or against US." It's a childish, 5th grade level phrase that's used to divide kids up into gangs. When used by a supposedly responsible adult, it becomes just a political slogan that makes a half-decent sound bite on the news shows. It still divides people, and nations, though. It automatically groups potential allies and people who just want to stay out of someone else's fight and out of the way into the enemy camp.
"There will be sacriface." Yes, we all know that. But just exactly what kind and how much? Come on, be completely up front and truthful. Some how I have those news reels film clips of Europe during the early 1940s rolling through my mind. Except we ain't in Europe anymore. Not to mention the present day news media's non-stop re-running film clips of present day New York city.
"Winning the war against terrorism." Yeah sure, like you've got the power to do something to its complete end. Terrorism has plagued humankind for all of written history and before. Hate, terror, war, genocide, ..., they're all the same. They're never completely defeated. The best the good in humankind can do is strive to maintain the lowest energy state of the bad in humankind.
"Defending freedom and democracy." No. There's no threat to freedom or democracy. There's just the threat of being hated by others. There's just the threat of people being killed for no other reason than being Americans. Terrorist leaders use any rational to justify their murders within their heads. They care nothing for freedom, democracy, foreign policy or anything else. There all just reasons to instigate hatred against some other human.

Then again, the retoric from the other side isn't any better.
"Islam jhad and other holy wars." You're terrorists, you hate and you kill for the sake of hating and killing. There's nothing Holy about you or your causes except just that, you're just a holy terror. Your use of a great religion's name is no better than that of those who used another great religon's name some 900 years in the past. Islam jhad ... Christian Crusade, they're one in the same, blasphymous use of all people's Faiths and Beliefs.
"It's the States foreign policys." You're terrorists. What policys have you offered for a replacement? Humankind has seen the evidence of your kind of policy. Death, destruction, famine, suffering through out humankind's history and through out the world. It's your foreign policy you would force upon us all that you fight for, not some other's you fight against.

I really don't understand what's going on in the States about this terrorism thing. There's still the fund raising for the NY firemen's families. I wonder how much of it, or how little of it, will every get to them. And the families of the people who died aren't mentioned much.
It's give money for fundraising, it's spend money to boost up the economy, it's spend money for the war. It's money this and money that.
And then there's all them companies, organizations getting some patriotic imagery in their commercials. And the news media getting points in for their coverage.
The president talks war this war that. Then turns around and tells everyone to go own with their normal living and spend money. It's kind of like most everyone thinks "the event" is over and done with.
All the puzzle pieces just aren't really fitting together like they should. And I don't know what to make of it.

There's not much new with the terror thing either. It's still just waiting for the next attack. Sometimes it really doesn't look hopefull. This is the new status quo, some insane group of people who just want to cause terror in the States and the rest of the world to boot. It's like just a few individuals have brainwashed thousands of followers into that kill kill kill mode. Blashphemy God's name and religions in the process too. Go out and kill lots of common folk, destroy families, creak havic and terror. And then getting them to think they're going to get into Paradise and Heaven for such deeds.
Sometimes it looks and feels like the whole thing is a put on. Maybe that's cause there's just no sense or rational to doing things like that. Like that God Bless America singing and everyone praying for America. Yeah we all need to pray alright but it probably should start of with ... God forgive US of our sins .... And end with ... Have mercy upon US all.

Yesterday or Monday I read about an Arizona doctor's ordeal with the FBI during the 2 weeks after the event. They picked him up and did all the usual holding and interrogation thing. He's a family man, apparently had a house and regular job or studies. He got hauled around to different states and New York. The Arabian consulant sent lawyers and did the other normal things too. In the end the FBI let him go on about his life. It was a rough two weeks for him and his family. But still, in the end, he didn't hold any bad feelings. He kept thinking of the victims and their families in New York, DC and all. His was a minor inconvenience in comparison.
It did occur to me though. These terrorists, the local henchmen, appear to be single men living alone or in groups of 2 or 3 in motels and apartments, no regular job since they get their support money, probably been in the States less than 5 years. There's other characteristics I'm sure. Being a family person with a house and job doesn't fit in. And then there's the normal Islamic communities here. Seems like they might be better able to help weed out those who aren't fitting in with the rest of the community.
On the McLaughlin talk show Sunday a couple of the commentators estimate 15,000 to 30,000 terrorists have been processed by the training camps over the last ten years or more. That's world wide and I would think there is more than enough weeding to be done here.
And I suppose that's the process, weeding terror out from our collective mind. There are reports every few days of another arrest, plot uncovered and such somewhere in the world. Germany, Italy, France, Algeria, United Kingdom, and all. The digging and clawing at the roots continues.

More thinking about the current events, it's most of what I think about now, is doing an open letter to the local terrorists. It's really just part of thinking something I write makes a difference, yeah sure it does. But anyway it started off like,      But anyway, I still suffer from delusions of grandeur occassionally.

Should have know that the hostilites would start this week too. Well I did acutally. I told one of the co-workers about when Daniel took his vacation the tragedies at NYC and DC happened so it'll be my luck for the fighting to start when I took my vacation.
There're still times when the overall feel of the events is that all of it has been planned and laid out from the beginning. It's that wag the dog movie thing. But then it's really just the politicians, governments, terrorists, news media and all taking an advantage of the bad situation to get whatever profit in power they can out of it.
obl must have really gotten desperate. he's been trying for years to draw the States into an attack on a muselum country. The first WTC attack, the embassies in Africa, the USS Cole, probably the OK City event too. So he went for the worst atrocity he could create. It's been said on some of the discussion boards that was what he's always wanted. Get the States to attack a muselum country so he could expand his jhad against the States.
Of course there's more of the anti-States protesting going on in those countries now too. So he's got what he wanted, a greater division between the western and eastern cultures.
I have found it interesting though. Some would say the States played into what he wanted. But so have the Islamic extremist and militants. Such are the signs of the madman genius, pulling the strings of all the puppets.
I've been trying to do some rough guesstimation calulations. It's been reported the number of his terrorists around the world is between 4,000 and 13,000. Allow 10% for upper level management, so that leaves 3,600 to 11,700 for the henchmen and their support. A cell is composed of the suicide attackers and their support people. I really don't know what the ratio is, 1:1 or 1:2 or 2:1 or what; but anyway this is just a guessing game. For each cell there's 4 attackers and 2 support, so there's 600 to 1,950 cells.
Assume 50% of the cells are incountry and 50% elsewhere in the world. That leaves 300 to 975 cells. Some have been and will continue to be dismantled by investigations and arrests. It will be a natural decay function I suppose, as time goes by. Assume 20% have already been neutralized so that leaves 240 to 780. As time goes by there'll be a combination of more attacks by the cells and their being uncovered and removed. But I'm not doing that calculus.
What to allow for the size of the targets in terms of humans killed and murdered? One hundred to 6,000. The targets are probably divided up between small and major sizes and the major ones may require two cells each. Lets guess a 75% and 25% for small and major. Estimated number of Americans and other nationals as collateral damage, 198,000 to 643,500.
Kind of spooky ain't it? Which brings up the next point. Was the September 11, 2001 date a co-incidence with the 911 number or was it planned? If planned then there's an addition psychological factor, he has the madman sense of humor, along with the other symbolism of the targets, capitalism and military. What are the probable dates and targets for the future attacks?

I've got to wondering why there's not 500,000,000 muslems streaming into Afganistan to behead the heritic of their faith. obl virtually claimed he was Allah in his latest message to the west. he said Allah struck the States but most of the world knows it was obl and his terrorists who did the deed. Then he said there would be more planes crashing into cities, Allah willing, but most of the world knows it will be obl and his terrorists who will do those deeds too.
The States news media are covering the anti American protests and demonstrations in the muslem countries. That's to be expected, more propangada to keep the so called enemy in the public's mind. But is there not one demonstration by the any of the 1 billion righteous, true faithful muslems against obl, terrorism and heritics of their faith?
And then they're the other muslem countries and nations. Will they follow the tugs and pulls of obl's strings into doing what he expects of them? Hate the States and the non-muslem world more than they hate the blasphemy of the heritic?

Dear New Pet Owners,
Sometimes, sooner or later, pet dogs turn on their owners, especially if they've be badly treated and viciously trained. I suppose in the end it's really just a matter of whose pet turns first, the second will then follow the first's lead and turn on its owner as well.
Over the course of the recent decades, there's been these images of the Palestinean youth throwing stones at the Isreali soliders with guns. I never really understood the logic of that, except it's all designed to instigate a response from the soliders to further escalate the violence. It's the same principle obl uses but several orders of magnitude greater.
But then think again .... Does God, Allah, Creator, whatever name the faithful use for their Deity throw rocks? The answer is yes. I suspect though, His aim is to permenantly end the violence. I'm sure He hits exactly what He aims at too. And He makes near misses exactly as close as He wants to as well.
I don't believe He cares for senseless, mindless dog fights that disturbs the peace in His part of the neighborhood either.

Terroris2001 webpage with the writings about the recent events. But like the last journal entry, it got put aside again.
obl as the Puppetteer. Everything appears to be going as he planned and designed. he got the response out of the States that he needed to escalate his terrorism. he's also getting the response out of the Islamic world he needs as well. I doubt if the mulsim extremists would admit obl is pulling the strings on that side the same as he's pulling the strings on the non-muslim side.
I think he really intends to create another Islamic empire with himself as the empereor, religious and secular. That means the Arabic, Mid-eastern, and other Islamic nations will suffer the same fate as the Americas, Europe and other Asian nations.
obl as the heritic and blasphymer. It's still a curiousity that the billion or so true believers of Islam tollerate what he's doing to their Faiths and Beliefs.
The anti-American sense. The anti-bombing, anti-war anti-States protesting and demonstrations came in on que as well. Which implies the query of where are all the anti-terrorism, anti-heirosy, anti-killing in all its forms demonostrations? Where have any of these things been in the past recent years?
Cowboy politics and wild west talk. Bush still has that Texas governor mindset. He's also egoistical, using "I" where "United States" or "the civil world" should be spoken. He takes the general public as easily manipulated as any puppeteer. The air drop of those food packets was a joke. What good is 37,000 meals when thousands of tons of basic foodstuffs are needed? Some of the Afgans were feeding it to their mules and donkeys.

Would Mahatma Gandhi's "satyagraha" principle have been a better move to counter terrorism?
Johanesbug SA, September 1906. "satyagraha: firmness in truth, new technique for redressing wrongs through inviting, rather than inflecting, suffering, for resisiting the adversery without rancour and fighting him with violence." It lasted seven years. [refer Britanica].
When I first started to think along this path it was the alternative to war and meeting violence with more violence. I thought it would have been the better path. But then I realized that the path had already been taken since there were previous terrorist attacks and the States had suffered through them. And then again it occurred to me that the path could have been continued and perhaps can still be taken.
     Still the question remains.
The principle depends upon the adversary having a conscience, moral and ethical guidlines, a sense of self honor. This is not the case for terrorism, it has no conscience. So it would not have worked to turn the terrorist away from terrorism.
But there's the rest of the world and its conscience. If the States had suffered through the magnitude of the tragedy and continued on through the next ones as well without following the violence begats violence path, the question becomes, "Would the rest of the world had taken up the fight against terrorism on the States' behalf?"
It would work best if it is the Islamic world that takes up the fight. This particular era of terrorism is using the Islamic Faith for ill gains. It is really a case of the vast majority of their Faithful and True believers defending their own religion from heresy and blasphemy by one of their own.
The first satyagraha lasted seven years. Many lost their personal freedoms and livilyhoods, suffered greatly. But in the end they gained the sympathy of the rest of the world. Their adversey gained a better conscience, I suppose. I don't know how many if any were killed outright. In todays events though, there have already been thousands murdered and there would be even more thousands of common folk killed by the terrorist attacks along the satyagraha path.
Is the Anti-American, Death to America sentiment so strong around the world that no one would come to the aid of the States? Is the rest of the world's tolerance of terrorism greater than their tolerance of thousands and millions dying? The answer lies buried in Rhwanda, the Horn of Africa, Bosnia, Albania, Iraq, Cambodia, Isreal, Palistine and even Alfganistan.
Still, the States would have gained the High Moral Ground.

Life, such as it is, is back to normal. Almost, my mind thinks about the new era of living under terrorism.
I haven't found anyone else comment yet about how this attempt to seperate the US from Isreal and the MidEast has basically made the US more like Isreal. Living under the constant threat of suicide bombings and now it's anthrax in the mail. We are the hated now, or rather we've always been hated and are now the active target of hatred.
The major news media in the States are doing their part to hype up the terror. I suppose obl even depended on and planned on them to do what they do best. But then maybe that's just my own bad attitude about the news media that's always been present.
obl does not understand how interconnected everything in the world is and has been for the past 100 years. he made reference to the failing economy and political structure in the States but fails to see how that just means the rest of the world's economy and politcal structure will follow and fail also. he still sees the States and the West as a seperate entity from the rest of the world.
The same is true of those who mindlessly use that death to America phrase. Just what does that really mean? What would the world be like without the States?
Poof! It's done and gone. No more demand for Mideast oil, no more investments in the States by the Muslim princes of oil rich countries. No more demand for consumer products from the rest of the world. No more humanitarian aid of food and medicine going out to the rest of the world. No more demand for herion, cocaine, pot and other bad drugs, yeah get the world's drug dealers pissed off and let them take care of obl and the rest of the terrorists. No more contributions to sciences, health, and other such academics from the States. ....

Friday evening on the ABC News with Peter Jennings, he opened up the thinking about All Hallow's Eve. It's another one of the THC things. I told one of the co-workers that afternoon about what I had been thinking for a week or two. Lo and behold, it gets mentioned on the news that evening too. It's going to be a bad night then, kids, some of them more than old enough to know better, will be throwing powder at people and leaving it at other people's houses.
But that's not the main thought. If there's any significance to the 911 number and 9/11 date, then All Hallow's Eve will be just as significant. That celibration has been corrupted into spooks, ghosts, witches, goblins, demons and such for 5 or 10 decades. It's got that association with satan and obl will use that connection next.
And then there'll be election day, Thanksgiving, and most all the other dates connected with the States or even Christianity. But then again, any random date can still be used when those are expected.
On CNN's community discussion boards, the one about the war on terrorism, there was a couple of really goods posts by a muslims. One was a link to another site the other was just a normal personal comment type. I and a few others noted the later and thanked the man for his views. It was a positive constructive type post basically about how the majority of muslims care for the States and recognize how the terroist are ill using Islamic beliefs.
Later that afternoon, this was Friday morning and afternoon, someone at CNN had removed it, along with mine thanking the man, and probably others. So that was just another indication that CNN and other news media want mostly the negative and confrontation types of comments. Keeping the hate alive and well, obl's use of the American news media is proceeding according to his plan and design as well.
There were no, or few, or any news coverage if they were, anti terrorism protests and demonstrations the day after or the weeks after. There still hasn't been as best I can tell from my limited info sources. But the anti war, anti bombing, anti american sure did pop into exisitence in full force in a hurry.
Missing bits and bytes of info on the information super highway.
It takes about 10,000 anthrax spores to infect and develop into the disease. So just how much is that? A few grains of salt, a gram, a teaspoon full?
The news hype about anthrax has been going on for three weeks, more or less. A couple of days ago they finally told the populace that cleaning contimanated things with a bleach solution works pretty good to kill the bacteria.
One news reporter noted there's been only 8 people who have developed the disease out of 300,000,000 citizens. Like dahhhhh. It's really 8 people out of 30-50 exposed who caught it, 15% to 25% you dummy.
Oh well, I'm suppose to be just another ignorant american as some of the posters at the discussion boards say. Suppose to believe everything seen and heard from officialdom. Yeah sure.

I was suppose to do some work on the "Dear Local Terrorist" series. But I didn't. I was suppose to do some work on the activity at this website. But I didn't. I was suppose to do lots of things. But I didn't do them either.
The GoldRule page is still active. The wrptext and wrptable pages have dropped off back to normal. The journal pages are dropping off too. They were mostly active during June thru September. The colevent page is linked to someone else's collection of columbine related webpages. The resume page had August and September as the peak, it's back to being ignored now.
The terroris page only had the August 25 peak. I suppose the rumors of an approaching event caused that.
I guess the traffic is falling off and will be back to normal now.

I waste more morning time reading posts at the discussion boards than any other place. It's pointless to try and look for signs of change and insight there.
It's also pointless and fruitless to expect a rational decision from an irrational mind. First correct their irrational thinking and then expect a rational decision.

Monday, October 29, 2001
5:50a
It's beginning to feel like poisoning the foodstuffs will be next, sometime this week also since it's that corrupted All Hallow's Eve holiday which approaches. Something wicked this way comes.
Either that or the major anthrax attack, which may be one in the same if it's on a food growing region.
But then again, obl and his style of terrorism seems to be fond of explosions and buildings or other symbolic structures.
It'll be a random, small town next. There would up the terror level a couple orders of magnitude among us common folk. It would remove that sense of only the politicans and media persons being the target. After all, that's what terrorism does; they attack the common folk who have the least influence in government policy making that they site as the justification for the attacks to begin with.
Getting back to the rational decision from an irrational mind problem there's a sense of that being an irrational line of thought as well. Or maybe it's just not understanding the this particular terrorist mindset. Or it's a western mindset making western type of decisions and expecting the same from the enemy who happens to be in a 9th or 10th century Mideast Islamic mindset.
So anyway. The bombing campaign to force the expected taliban collapse hasn't happened. The hunt for the individuals isn't working out as planned. There's a hesitancy of doing the ground search. The anti-american protests and demonstrations are building. This Islamic holy month is approaching.
So put a checkmark besides this item on the to do list. Tried that, it didn't work, move on to the next stradegy.
Among one or more of those alphabetic, secret intelligence agencies of the government, there's suppose to be an individual and a group of others playing the part of obl and his terrorists. They're suppose to eat, drink, sleep, think and otherwise get themselves into that mode of Mideast Islamic thinking. It provides insight into the problem and removes the western, rational mindset and expectations.
But there was already suppose to have been a group thinking the unthinkable before terrorist attacks. That didn't happen either.
obl as the Mule in the Foundation Trilogy by ... whoever. It that novel the social and civilization planning was reduced to equations. The factors laid in to build a the new galatic order in a predictable way. But then along comes the unexpected influence of the Mule, a person who had the ability to make individuals do according to his design and whim.
     It fits.

Another morning wasted away reading the same comment and discussion boards. Another morning wasted away reading, pondering thoughts, instead of pondering and writing. I'll never learn.
It's pathetic, I feel, to see people use photos of children in a world of hurt in some far away hospital to promote their stop the bombing campaign. Do they ever wonder why there's no photos of the horror that happened to precipitate such? Would they even tolerate the graphic images that would put the most terrifying, blood and guts horror movie out of Hollywood to shame? This is what the real world terrorists did to real world common folk for no real good reason.
Bodies of men, women, children, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, people of every faith, nationality, ethnic group torn apart by the impact of planes into buildings and flying into the ground. Bodies doused with jet fuel, burned to ashes while writhing and screaming in agony. Bodies coughing, choking, gasping for air in an oiling, fume and smoke filled office. Bodies falling, jumping out of windows from the horror and pain, smashing into asphalt and concrete, splattering blood and flesh where they landed. Bodies crushed by tons of falling steel and concrete. Bacteria filling lungs, suffocating its host body to death. ....
That is what obl, his terrorists, the taliban did. Now they hide among their own innocent, common folk, in mosques, schools, homes, in caves, to protect themselves from the rest of the world's restrained wrathe for such an act. They expected and received the world's sympathy over the horrors of war against their men, women, children, husbands, .... They expected and received supportive response from some other Muslims to come to their aid in the name of defending Islam.
It's pathetic, I feel, to see others site the embargo and sanction situation of the common Iraqians as injustice. Or the situation between Palestinians and Isreali; or the drought and famine suffering of Afgans as injustice. It's pathetic to call a war on terrorism a war protecting freedom, democracy, a way of life. More shortsighted, tunnel vision.
Real terrorism in the real world will do orders of magnitude worse. What they intend to do to the abstract entities they call the States, the West, the infidels they also intend to do the whole reality of the world. Such is what real evil in some humans lust and desire.
They intend to collaspe the world's economy and bring about a gobal depression. They intend to poison and lay waste entire regions of the world with deadly organisms and chemicals. They intend to destroy food production and distribution to all drought famine regions of the world. They intend to kill, murder, cripple not hundreds, not thousands, not tens of thousands but hundreds of thousands and even millions. They intend to create hatred and bitterness among all religions and faiths. They intend to rule places like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Palestine, Indonesia, Lebanon and the rest of the Islamic world they same way they've ruled in Afghanistan and scores of other places where they survive. They intend to ....
They intend to accomplish by all mean necessary what they intend to do.
It's pathetic, I feel, to see and hear this call to Muslims around the world to go and defend Islam. If not by explict words uttered from his mouth, it's by implict words and explict deeds he has declared himself a prophet of Allah if not Allah Himself. I have yet to see and hear one Muslim nation tell the States or the West or the infidels "Go back home, we'll take care of the heresy and blasphemy coming from the false prophet, the terrorists, and the taliban." Where's the millions out of the billion true believers of Islam who should be gathering at the borders of Afganistan to destroy the few thousand who ill use their faith? Where are they who should be gathering to come to the aid of the common people of Afghanistan during their sufferings from drought, famine, oppression?
It's pathetic, I feel, to see and hear these anti-war, anti-American demonstations. It's been more than three fortnights since the latest atrocity against humanity happened. I have yet to see and hear of major public demonstrations by the truly faithful among all the world's faiths against the atrocities of terrorism. I have yet to see and hear of major outcries from humanity to stop all forms of killing, murder, destruction by terrorists.
It's pathetic, I feel, to have to realize that one individual, obsessed and possessed by his own power can go up against the rest of the world. he has the power to train, condition, manipulate, brainwash men into abandoning and turning against their religion. he has the power to make them believe they can murder thousands, cause untold suffering among survivors of their attacks, and still expect their own soul to survive Allah's judgement by His "Do not kill" or "No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother what which he desires for himself" rules.

obl released another video tape. he's talking about the other Islamic nations not being true Muslims now. he's also talking about the United Nations too. I suppose that moves the UN in NYC up a few lines on his target list. There was an alert Friday or so about the bridges out west being targeted. That may be a diversion away from the UN buildings.
It's really a difficult decision to decide whether or not he would use video tapes release through an Arabic satellite news network to pass messages to the local terrorists here. But everything related to this terrorism reduces best guesses when there's no rational mind to depend on.
I had made a post at cnn's discussion about how he would turn his attention to the other Islamic nations. he doing that earlier than I thought. I was expecting him to finish with the States and the West first. he even came down on Iraq, and that would have been after the Iraqian president gave him the anthrax. No honor among those theives and terrorists.

5:40a
Another 3:00 wake up. More wasting time reading about terrorism news, but not as much time this morning. It's that mind focus thing, latching onto something and just not being able to let it go.
Over the weekend I got to thinking about this and don't know if it means much. It was 619 days between the New Millenium celebrations around the world and then the epicenter of human tragedy happened. Virtually the whole of humanity being happy, singing and dancing for 24 hours. Then it all came tumbling down with the buildings. Such a mood swing for the whole world.
There's been a couple of positive signs. One of the national networks, ABC I guess, had a close-out story on Sunday evening. It was about a video-internet meeting between the Isreali and American teenagers. The American teens were getting counseling from the Isreali teens about how to cope with the terrorists attacks. They have had to deal with them for all their young lives. Now they're giving counsel like elders to the new generation of terror victims.
The other one was about airline carriers. They are seating the men up front. There's fewer wearing business suits and more wearing jeans and atheletic shoes, being prepared for action. I suppose that means the probability of another plane being hijacked and used as a weapon is going down. But then again, if there's another attack in this aspect of the campaign it'll just be one of the plane being blown up in flight or something.
Sometimes it seems like there's no solution. For every counter measure there's a new or slightly different terror tactic.

I've been writing in the regular journal recently. I've also spent most of the time at the terrorism relating things in the news and cnn discussion board.
I updated this page with copies of most everything I wrote on that board. And then there's that "Making Do" prose I wrote and sent to a friend.
This morning there were more attacks in Israel. Things are getting rougher there now.
The war in Afghanstan has proceeded such that's the taliban and alquaeda collapsed a lot sooner than expected. But it's not over yet and want be till george gets his fill of retailation.
So anyway. I'll probably not be posting much here anymore unless it all starts to fall apart again.

It looks like it has gotten down to the hunting for the two. It's going to be bad business. I'm not convinced it will be worth it either. I'd rather most of the resources be used hunting down the local terrorists who do the destruction.
There's already bickering and fighting among some of the Afghan alliances. Seems like some of them still have learned much from all the bombing their country. But they're basically political leaders, it's just there way of doing government in Afghanistan.
There was a news report a few days ago, I don't remember where it came from. It was some Afghan elder, a common folk man, who made reference to the 20 or 25 years of warring and fighting and had hopes that the powers that be would have learned not to do that anymore by now.
It was a London Times article I found this week that talked about how the terrorism idealogy needs to be discredited and destroyed. It's not going to be getting those two individuals or the local terrorists where ever they are in the world. It's not going to be changing the States' or the West's foreign policy in the Mideast. It is going to be just that. Discrediting, dismantling, destroying the terrorism idealogy of hate and kill for the sake of hating and killing.
I made a couple of more posts to the cnn discussion board. They got ignored like most all the others. But I don't response that much to the ones I read and think are good either. It's just that there were no indicaters that the thoughts made there way into other people's thinking. Some times they would at least pick up on a key word or phrase from my work and put into theirs.
I think my last post will be the usual EOT CT. There's no need write anything there anymore.

The jolt and shock of reality is as good a de-programming technique as any other. It's similar to the experience of some individual attempted suicide cases. They usually say the moment they stepped off the bridge or building ledge they knew it was a mistake.
There's three dots in a row now. The first reference came in the first video I think, 'scores of planes more'. The second is that terrorist captured in India and his reference to his training in Australia for other similar attacks. His training predates the first reference so there's no spin off from that. There's this new video now with its reference of 'more to come'.
There's a four dot which is the anchor. That's the one from a few years ago when they were planning to hijack and blow the planes up in flight. This basically fits the two pieces together, planes and destruction.
The captured terrorist also made the comment of 'saw the news of the New York attack and fled.' That's the moment when the jolt and shock of reality set in. "Do I really want to do that to my body and soul?"
But all this is suppose to be a mute line of thought. There should not be another successful hijacking and crashing of a plane into cities. It's that Flight 93 offense. At the first signs of a hijack in progress there should be 50, 100, 200 very angry, mad, upset, furious passengers against the 5 or 7 would be hijackers.

The Nov 9th obl tape was released yesterday. It had been in the States possession since the last week in November. The government had been debating over whether to make it public or not. But one of the Washington newspaper learned of it so they had to then. There was talk about the video and sound quality and getting the translation right. There was one reference that they did not intend to ever release it. So anyway ....
It's a group of terrorist leaders sitting around talking trash, to use a recent youth world Americanese expression. Besides the face value of the talk about the September 11th attack, there's probably more to learn from the tangent points. Even just the existence of the video and the circumstances of its chance discovery.
Most of the trash talk was about dreaming and dreams. Once that popped up it seemed like everyone had a divine premination dream. Probably the equivalent of where were you and what were you doing when the attacks happened. So they live in their religious mysticism world.
There was a sense of success in their idealogy goals. That reference to the Western non-believers looking into Islam books and Holland converts. That's just another part of the religiou aspect.
More successes during Ramadan ... another indication of planned attacks. And there's Walker's reference to phase II being at the end of Ramadan. But now that Islamic holy month ends Sunday. The first is what the leaders planned, the second is what filtered down through the ranks, just like another military rumor. Basically it's just a wait and see what falls out during the rest of the year. The Jewish and Christain holy days are next and that would connect with the other religious talk.
But then again what is planned by leaders and what results are usually two different things. It gets back to that 'scores of other planes' from the first video. Those haven't happened yet. And it's the way things progressed in Afghanistan, surely that was not in there plans.
It really gets down to what the local terrorist cells are reading into the all the events. Rationally they should being having serious doubts about their cause and leadership. It will be the irrational ones to be concerned with.
Phase III ... total destruction of America, from Walker's statements. What does that mean to the Mideastern terrorist leader's mind? It was referenced to in an interview with a Saudi person about obl, "he thinks the America makes the world go round." So total destruction means zero influence from the States in the world. That can be social and economic collapse. That part is already in motion (omar made that reference) and a second major physical attack will only hasten it. He's thinking in long term results probably over 5, 10, 20 years.
The "Everyone finds exactly what they look for, no more, no less" principle. This applies to all sides, one is success the other is defeat, from each side's perspective as well. The Presidency sees gloating of murder and destruction. But so do most in the Islamic world with respect to chat talk and discussion boards about daisy cutters, bombs, and the war going on in Afghanistan. The taliban and alqadea are being deminished but not completely defeated. Yet terrorism will remain and the States economy is being deminshed as well. In obl's mind everything is still progress toward his goal.
Phase II ... is there a reason to assume this applies to the States? The earlier tape referenced peace for Palistine. And that Israel and Palistine has escillated significantly. The hamas is part of the alqadea coalition. There's a States representative there now and the attacks on Israel always increase when that happens. That's why some of the Israelii don't want any States official there. But anyway, it still fits with the total destruction of the States influence.
Why is there this particular video? It really should not even exist. A home video carelessly left behind in a rush to leave for the mountains and caves? Something for prosperity and history? In their minds it could be a record of their success. I'm really not sure, but the first week of November was before the sucesses of the Northern Alliance. And why would the States government not even want it to be seen in public to begin with? I'm sure it's a geniune tape and not tampered with by either side.
It is more apt to turn against obl than against the States. On NPR yesterday after work, one of the news people were asking others what they thought of the tape. One college person, Muslim as well, made the observation I had made earlier ... the Islamic world should declare jihad against obl. But the extremists will see only what they want to see or not see. There's already those who claim it's a fake created by the Americans.
Well that's all and I probably went off on tangents and there were other things about the tape I thought of but have not forgotten.

The fighting in Tora Bora is over, at least the major bombing and killing. That sector of alqadea has been dispersed, most probably fled into country side and Pakistan. The focus is more on obl and omar now, they are searching the caves.
obl has been out of that area since the first of December and in Pakistan. At least that's what some of the rumors are saying. he supposedly sent one of his sons back to lead the alqadea. There was a buzz of communications after that big bomb was dropped. It was probably the son that got killed and the survivors were talking with obl back in Pakistan.
But anyway ... it's reduced now to looking for individuals hiding out somewhere in the world. That will fail. Not so much because it's virtually impossible to find one individual out of 6 billion and could be anywhere on the planet. It's just because big name leaders with the resources to hide are seldom caught. Like Gingus Kahn was caught ... by old age.
Actually he's more valuable to the terrorism cause dead and no body to be found. That would make it an untangible leader with the opposing forces always wondering if he's still alive or not. But I doubt if the remaining alqadea leaders would realize that. they could just kill him themselves and use his name and wouldn't have to be burdened with his security.
I think things have moved much too fast. The States leadership was counting on a two year war at least. Now it's reduced to a presence in an unstable country looking for individuals. The bogging down into local conflicts and fights begin now. More and more it will become the Wag the Dog reality, trying to stretch out the war into the next election or two.
Politics are back to normal. There's no telling how much bad legislation has been passed in the States. The kind that should have been in the public's eye and mind. The in-power group has it all now and they will serve their own special interests.
It's going to be an irony of history in about 25 to 50 years. The anti-America, hate and death to America forces will get what they've always wanted. Thanks in part to obl, alqadea, and all others who would have done it by terrorism. But it will be more of an internal failure than an external one. They've really only just accelerated the inevitable that would have happened later.
Human's hatred ... 50,000 years and more of evolution un-impeded by progress.

Palestine and Israel have been beating up on each other for too long. It's become too much like the status quo. And now it's become more of a personality conflict too, Arafat and (?) that current Israeli Prime Minster. They've both become stubborn and refuse to deal with each other. So it's time for each side to find persons who will make a serious effort toward peace.
Pakistan and India are at it again too. I guess it's a global Murphy's Law ... if something can go wrong, it will, and at the most inopportune time.
Some how I'm getting the sense that it's all part of the terrorism plans. They basically wanted a major conflict between the Islam and West worlds. So maybe it didn't work out as originally planned, Islam and the States. Murphy's Law applies to everyone. So now they're try and get the major conflict started in South Asia and the MidEast. Of course the Palestine-Israel conflict was always in the plan.
Isn't it interesting how terrorism acts a catalyst for more hate, illfeelings, discontent in others who were already on the verge of boiling over.
They don't necessarily want what they say upfront. They just want civilization to deteriorate. It's easier for those with individual political, geographic power ambitions to have their small part of the countryside and individual cities than regional and national.
The Walker story will be lost in the approaching world war. I had decided it would just become another major media hyped up court trial. That may still happen but won't compare to what it would have been if the rest of the world is fighting.
Terrorism is madness. It's like a person who has so much hate there's no reasoning ability left. If they were on a ship in one of the below water decks and saw some symbol of what they hate on the outter bulkhead, they would blow it up. There would be no thought about blowing a hole through the hull and sinking the ship they're on. Kill and murder everyone on board just so they can destroy the hated symbol.
I think it's becoming more apt for the person being beat up on by a terrorist to become like the terrorist. What will the States and the rest of the Western world be like after they've been beaten up on by terrorists for 20, 30 or 50 years?

It's been awhile since I've written anything about this. I have been thinking about it though, and now I've forgotten most of what I would have written. Maybe some of it will come back if I just start.
Last evening on one of the national networks there was a public opinion polls, not that they're all that reliable, about the general attitude now. It's falling back into everything is normal again. But that's misleading and will be a stumbling block in the future.
It mostly has to do with the fact that there has not been another major attack by the terrorists in the States. And the apparent defeat of the taliban and alqueda in Afghanistan is a false success, well a false complete success anyway.
One has to look at the frequency of the past attacks which seems like once a year. So it will be another nine months at least before there's any real sign of change. It should be the mean plus 1 or 2 standard deviations for a sure sign of change. Of course, failure will be indicated by any significant attack sooner than the average occurrance.
Maybe it's just a national conscience desire for it to all be over and done with.
The kid and the small aircraft incident is attracting the expected attention. The new media is hyping it up into a major event which will lead to other copycat occurrances, some of which can/will be by terrorists. It's just a matter of changing the scale with them. They've thought in terms of big and once a year, now they'll think in terms of small and frequent.
The media has already made much ado about small airport security, now that an event has happened. They'll be even more rules and regulations now. But it's all pointless. A determined terrorist will either follow all the rules and still find a way around or through them, or, they will simply break the rules. But that's the way of politics and government in the States. They pass laws, rules and regulations thinking such will stop something from happening.
So how long has God's do not murder and kill rule been on the books? And when has a single day gone by that it was not broken?
Potus, I'm beginning to like that new word, still has his head in politics as usual. He still doesn't have a clue and that goes for most of congress and the rest of the political entities in the States. Use enough catch phrases, slogans and operation code names and the masses will follow. He and the republican party will use all means necessary to make this into their wag the dog event.

For those of you who just arrived here from the regular journal, hi again. You can skip to the second paragraph since the first one is a copy and paste.
I added some to the Terrorism 2001 page yesterday morning. I guess I should work on that some more too. But I'm no better than any of the other posters about that subject. Neither are the political and government officials, they're one in the same. We're all just a bunch of individuals argueing, fighting, debating the same points over and over and over again. It's really getting scarey thinking the individuals who actually can make terrorism and war are just like the ones shouting and insulting each other on discussion boards and in chat rooms.
Signs of change ... what are they?
There must be signs of change on all facets of the problem for success to be achieved. It's not just success for one side or the other. It's also implied as a lack of defeat for all sides. One can wage a war against the terrorists, kill them, destroy their capabilities to do terrorism. But that's not real success. It's when one changes their mindset that's real success. Still there has to be a change of mindset on the other side as well.
These are the signs, when [that] becomes [this].
The United States is the greatest nation on the Earth ... the United States is one of the better nations on the Earth. I (Potus) will lead this war against terrorism ... We as a nation will join with other nations as equals to fight this war against terrorism. You are either with us or against us ... You can either be with us, be neutral or be against us. The States foreign policy is unchangeable ... the States foreign policy is adaptable to change.
Religions have cause more wars than any other reason ... egotistical individuals with a lust for power have caused the most wars. Islam teaches violence, oppression, terrorism ... individuals and political entities ill use religious teachings. Americans, Arabians, Muslims, Christians, Britons, Westerners, Palestinians, Isreali are [insert some insult, putdown, character fault here] ... some individuals who happen to be American, Arabian, ... are [insert some insult, putdown, character fault here].
Bearing arms against one's country is treasonous ... political bribery, pay offs, abuse of public office and all like acts are treasonous.

Some of the so-called warlords are still in control of their little part of Afghanistan. The States military gave them uniforms and equipment for their people to use. Those never made it to the men who needed them for the trek. There was money given too. So that aspect of the local problem there hasn't changed.
The States are probably dealing with a future bin laden type terrorist leader. Maybe one of the upper level officers are taking names and notes for future reference of who those local warlords are, what they did and did not do.
Some of those missing uniforms will probably come back to one of the local bases. They're be terrorists wearing them and the States military men won't know who's friend or foe.
There are the beginnings of awareness of the danger within now. That is some in the public are just now talking about the power the Potus and incumbant political party are gathering toward themselves. Of course that's been recognized by a few, or many, from the beginning. It's just that the rest are awakening now.
As more and more time passes by, that hindsight comes into play. People see the things they missed before during all the emotional part of the events. More and more it will become easier to see the Tail Wag the Dog. But what to look for? Toward the end of next year the active campaign against terrorism will reach a lull, or not. It will work both ways for the re-election campaign year. Either Potus lead a successful war or will be needed to continue a successful war.
But like it will be an internal failure for the States it will be the same with politics. Potus was a politician before being cast into world shaking events. His political past will haunt him. The news media will tire of events in terrorism and turn their attention back to local politics and scandal.
Well .... it's interesting how I've just written more about States affairs than terrorism in the world. Wonder what that means?
Predictions? The internal failure of the Western world has been advanced by 10 to 15 years.

This will, or should be, my last entry here. I'm basically tired of thinking about the ... situation.
There's way too few who see things like I do, probably none at all. The cnn discussion is going no where. It's just the regulars there now and they're debating all the perimeter topics. The couple of other discussion groups are the same, even though I haven't spent that much time reviewing the posts.
The Isreal - Palestine conflict is back in high flaming stage. That part of the situation is more and more a personal conflict between Sharon and Arafat. Both of them need to be fired by their own people and a couple of others hired who will seriously talk with each other about what it will take for them to live together in peace.
It's become more and more apparent that most of the rest of the world thinks the States is the center of universe. And that's the same as what most of the citizens in the States think too. That may very well be the fundamental problem, faulty thinking on both sides.
Hussein of Iraq said something to the effect that the States will dimenish as a superpower because of how it reacted with force to the attack instead of diaologue. And that comes from the world leader who invaded Kuwait with force instead of diaologue.
All the world leaders do that. They say things and expect the masses to believe without doubt or question. The think the common folk ignorant and unaware of what's really going on. The news media does the same. So in effect that's the way the world really is, I guess. There's no real signs the masses are going to revolt any time soon and tell the world leaders, "Hey we're not like that so stop treating us that way."
The news media is making much ado about the condition and treatment of the alquadea prisoners at that States military base in Cuba. It's another sign of how ignorant they think the common people are. Like I am not suppose to be able to compare how the prisoners would have been treated by the Afghans. And then there's the comparison to how the common Afghan refugees are having to live.
Homeland security is still a joke. The system has been reduced to making young mothers take the shoes off their babies. There's unreasonable concern about profiling. The terrorists could probably have "terrorist" tattoed across their forehead, but because that makes them different they can't be given extra attention because that would be profiling. That's the way the security system is headed, which means they will be less and less real security.
It's the usual issues and views elsewhere too. Deport the illegal aliens in the States, lockdown the borders even minefield them, natonal ID papers. But the terrorists are already in the house as someone else noted. They've got all their papers in order. The Canadains and Mexicans are the friends, not the foe. So maybe it's true ... some of the masses really don't think deeply enough about the problem.
There's been only two signs recently of change. First is that college shooting event in Virgina. Other students there quickly made offensive moves against the shooter and captured him. I'd like to think that's an indiciation of individual, personal change in attitude. Before the nine-one-one event the bystanders would have run for cover.
The second actually came from the government. They posted pictures of terrorists who are probably planning another attack. They're getting the public involved again. I was beginning to think they had abandoned that approach because the news media was making an issue over those general alerts. Then again, like an ABC news analyst said, it's just the way the government is telling the terrorists, "We now know what you look like and what you're up to and now the rest of the world is watching for you."
There's still only one viable homeland security. That's all us common folk types taking care of security and preparedness in our own personal way.
We pay more attention to our own neighborhood and town. We tell the teenagers to watch for things that out of place when they're cruising around with their friends. Make an extra ride by of critical places. They're out more and know what looks right and what looks wrong.
We look at everyday day items and figure out how they can be used for weapons against some terrorists. We make emergency evacuation to do lists and prepare for that. We make plans of where the family is to meet or how to make connections if that's not possible.
Oh well, time's up, gotta go.
