Days of the Week: (I know, like you really wanted to know this...)Wednesday (because it's named after Mercury), and Friday ('cause it's PAY DAY!)

Number One: People who write 'your' when they mean 'you're' and the other way around! Not that I've never done it before...everyone makes mistakes, but for goodness' sake, PROOFREAD! Not that I'm bashing anybody personally...this just really bugs me! I'll be looking through a webpage, and sometimes I have to reread the sentence or phrase, just to make sure I read it correctly. Why is it so confusing? 'Your' signifies possession, like, "Oops! I'm sorry, I mistook your cat for a dustbunny." And 'you're' is a contraction of 'you' and 'are', such as "You're a dork." Would you REALLY wanna say, "Oops! I'm sorry, I mistook you are cat for a dustbunny," or "Your a dork"? The only problem I can see is that they're both pronounced kinda the same. But it still bugs the heck outta me!
Number Two: Cell phones. The WORST is when people use them while driving. Big NO NO, people!!! As one of my friends from work once said, "Hang up and drive!" Just as irritating are those people who talk on their cell phones while in the grocery store. That's just plain ridiculous. But I'm not even going to go into it...if you'd care to read more about what I think on that, go here.
Number Three: Teenyboppers. This word might be more of a description of attitude than of age. But they are every bit as annoying as cell phones in the grocery store! They get defensive about every little thing, tend to send hate mail to webmasters of humor sites because they don't understand the humor, and in general make nuisances of themselves. Most people think of teenyboppers as 12- or 13-year olds, but I'll have to disagree with that. As I said before, this term is more of a maturity description, because I know of several 12- and 13-year olds who are just about as mature as someone much older than them. But to teenyboppers everywhere: GROW UP! And if you'd like to flame me, here's an email addy for ya.
Number Four: Howie-bashers. This might sound hypocritical after what I just said about teenyboppers not understanding humor sites. But it's not. There's a fine line between humor and vindictiveness, and many of the sites I've seen have crossed that line by a considerable margin. By now, everyone knows the winking jokes...I even made fun of it a little bit in one of the banners I created for this site. But calling him a troll and other such things is way over the line. First of all, where does anybody get off calling him that? Not only is he a nice-looking man, but he's a human being, just like the rest of us. And he has feelings. So for the love of gummi bears, quit the Howie-bashing!

Why am I about to tell you the following story of how I first heard of the Backstreet Boys? Because I want to, gosh darn it! And besides that, I always love retelling this story 'cause I think it's neat. So there.
The Backstreet Boys, when I first heard of them, were only just beginning to gain popularity here in the States. I was in Europe (Belgium, to be exact) visiting some relatives--this was back in '96 or '97, I think--and one hot summer day, I was lounging all by m'self in front of their television. Since most of the channels didn't have anything of interest on, I had settled myself to watching video music channels. Most of the songs I couldn't understand 'cause they were in French, but all of a sudden some weird ass video comes on with werewolves and vampires and a coupla other weird creatures. At first, I was tempted to turn it off, thinking it was going to be some kind of hard rock, Marilyn Manson-ish video. But the tune was really catchy, so I continued to watch...and 'lo and behold, I ended up really liking the video! So for the rest of that day, I think I just kept humming "Everybody, yeah, rock your body..."
That weekend, the people I was staying with took me to Paris, France so I could see some of the sights there. Well, late that night I was once again sitting in front of the TV (also by myself once more), and not only did I get to see a video by my other fave group Queen (a video I'd never seen before), but I once again saw that weirdo Everybody video! Of course, this time I was excited, not just because I was closer to the TV and could now actually see their faces clearly, but because I'd wanted to hear the song again! It was even better the second time! So anyhoo, after the weekend in Paris was over (it woulda been MUCH better if the weather had stayed below 90 degrees Fahrenheit!), we went back to Brussels and I was telling my sorta-cousin--long story--about this group called the Backstreet Boys. "Oh, well don't be surprised if you don't hear about them in the US," she told me, much to my dismay. "Most European bands haven't been heard of over there." I didn't know if BSB was an American band or a European band (I assumed then that they were European), so I was, needless to say, bummed out.
La la la, time passes, I'm back in the States (ah, home sweet home!)....the first chance I got, I shot out to a record store and went searching through the CDs for the Backstreet Boys. I'm not sure if I found them on my first trip, but I definitely know that later, when I searched, I found them and was SO happy! But when I looked at the song listing on the back, I didn't see "Everybody"! (Yes, I know it was there...but my eyes just skipped over it) Of course later I found out the song WAS there, but it wasn't the cool version I'd heard while in Europe. By the way, somebody from Europe...isn't the video for "Everybody" different there than it is here in USA? I could SWEAR that Nick's little solo ("So everybody everywhere, don't be afraid don't have no fear...") was in the video. I'm right, aren't I?
So that's how I first heard of our marvelous Boys. I feel so special..I knew about 'em before even my friends did! "Quit Playing Games" was only JUST starting to get played on the radio, and even though I'd never heard the song before, I could still say "Hey, it's the Backstreet Boys!" *giggle* And that concludes my story. But wait, there's more stuff below this!
It's time for a free website promo. ;) Ya GOTTA take a look at The Backstreet Club, a club that two of my friends and I created. We can always use more members!!! And if you join, be sure you PARTICIPATE, 'cause there's nothing more annoying than people joining the club but refusing to participate! We have a monthly contest, a message board, chat room, newsletter....come ON!!!! (Do I sound desperate yet??)
