 
A New Dawn
For the first time since I fell in the hole I see light
My dark and solemn side is still fighting to overcome
But I can now see the top of the pit, it is in sight
My brighter side is trying to surface some
I have seen the sun shine and it is brighter
I heard the birds sing and the other sounds of spring
My whole attitude is starting to get lighter
It seems like it is starting to change everything
I can see logic and beauty in all things around me
Before, I could only see the darkness and sorrow
Each day now is starting to become a challenge
and I see a clearer destiny
I only hope that the things that I see today
will still be there tomorrow
If my grip slips while I try to scale the wall
I will fight to remember all that I now see
I will keep struggling but I will survive the fall
I will pull myself back up and continue my climb
because that it is the way it has to be
