Sorry. I just HAD to exercise my other bias! ;0D

Dinner was decidedly interesting.
Zel and Lina didn't show up at all (Sylfiel, who had spotted them blissfully necking behind Zel's tent, tactfully explained that they were "very busy"); Amelia, slightly crazed with hunger, devoured everything she could get her hands on, then promptly curled up in a ball and started snoring.
Gourry picked at his food listlessly, frowning.
"Is something wrong, Gourry-dear?" Sylfiel ventured.
"I'm not sure." He speared a piece of meat with his fork and twirled it idly. "That wish-spell... you know I wished I understood girls, right?"
She nodded.
"Well, I've been thinking. All the stuff the spell helped me figure out makes sense. So I wondered, why not see what else makes sense about the girls I know? So, I thought about it, and I realised that nobody else I know calls me 'dear'..."
Sylfiel's heart very nearly stopped.
"...and that's usually what a girl says to somebody she really likes. Somebody she has a crush on." He looked up. "Do you?"
"Do I what?"
"Have a crush on me."
For a minute she was too flustered to speak; finally, swallowing her fear, she managed a weak "Yes."
"Oh, good!" He beamed.
"G--good?"
"Yeah. I'm glad we got that cleared up. Can I kiss you?"
"Whaaaat???!"
"I thought that was what a guy was supposed to do to a girl when they like each other."
Sylfiel's vision began to cloud with tears of relief and joy. After all these years, after all her prayers and hints, he finally knew. He finally understood. L-Sama was kind indeed.
"Yes, Gourry. Yes, you can."
"Great! Just one thing, though..."
"Yes?"
"Will you explain how to do it? Kissing, I mean..."
The End
