Author: Divine Calendula Title: Sailor Moon N(ouveau) Chapter: 5. Blue Moon Rated: PG-13 Modoky paced back and forth across the floor of his royal conference room. It shouldn’t take them this long! He had set up a trap for Shakunage and that damned militia solider, that he knew would fall for. It was the perfect bait, Takura tied up and with fake bruises on her face and the daemon chest, sitting there in vulnerable range, but with Midare hiding in the shadows. That should’ve been enough to kill them. There should be no mess ups this time; he had thought it through to the last thread of doubt. They would be coming back with the traitors’ heads on a silver platter. He heard a knock on the door, strange for someone as high as Takura, his queen, or Midare to be doing. “You may enter!” The double doors slid open and there standing was that infernal Sailor Moon and her lover the Apollo Knight. In Sailor Moons’ arms was the lifeless body of Takura with a dagger in her abdomen and in the Apollo Knights’ was a platter with dust and ashes from burnt wood. “Here’s your queen,” said Sailor Moon, tossing Takura into his arms. “And here’s you frog and his box!” said the Apollo Knight, dropping the tray on the floor and shoving it with his boot over to the feet of Modoky. Modoky growled, tossed the body aside, and kicked the tray out of his way. “You shall pay!” yelled Modoky as he extended his wings and drew ethereal energy from his surroundings. Sailor Moon grabbed her tiara and flung the disk at Modoky, but he smacked it away, like an annoying mosquito. The Apollo Knight threw up his hand and shot a ball of fire at Modoky. He absorbed the blow as he morphed to look more and more like a falcon meta-human. When he was done, his wings were twice as large with a wing span as large as the room. His face was covered n dark brown feathers and a large yellow back. His hands had three long, sharp talons that matched his feet. He roared and beat his wings, sending gale winds at the two, sending them of their feet. He then shot a beam of echo energy from his beak around him and the room shattered immediately. He rose up into the air and waited for the two to get up before he dove in for the kill. They barely missed being cut by Modoky as they dropped down. The Apollo Knight began to rise and reached for his sword, but Sailor Moon put her hand on his arm and shook her head. He obeyed and stayed kneeled as Sailor Moon arose in front of him. She held up the Blue Crescent Moon Wand and cried, “Moon… Rotation… Sensation!” Nothing happened. She lowered the wand and looked in shock. “Ha, ha, ha!” roared Modoky, “Nice try Sailor Moon! To bad it doesn’t work! Then again, I suppose your plan all along was to make me laugh to death!” Respect the compass! Sailor Moon heard the voice in her head. The fairy had told her to respect the compass, but what did she mean by that? She considered different meanings, and then looked up into space. It then occurred to her that the compass might represent the different degrees that each planet’s axis. She began by making a circle around her body, and then pointed to each of the directions, making eight circles, repeatedly. “Moon… Rotation… Sensation!” The traced circles ignited into blue and silver rings and began to spin around her. Then they traveled up into the bow of the crescent moon and formed a bright blue and silver sphere of moon energy. Sailor Moon, holding the wand with both hands, swung the wand in the direction of Modoky. The sphere of moon energy released from its socket, sped across the night sky, and hit its target dead on. Modoky screamed as he saw his talons vaporize as the moon sphere impacted upon him. The sphere exploded Modoky into dust which drifted off into space. Only a single black stone left floating in the sky was the only remains of Modoky. The black stone vanished out of sight. Later it materialized into the socket of a ring that was on a black colored pointer finger. The finger began to tap in annoyance. Modoky has failed… the phoenix returns from the ashes. Shakunage hugged Asahi and kissed him. “Its over!” Asahi looked at her in confusion, “Have you forgotten already? There are still six warlords out there and who knows what kind of powers they have! Hopefully we can find the other Sailor Senshi, and then we’ll be a force to reckon with. Maybe we’ll be able to defeat all the evil that plagues the earth one day.” Shakunage sighed, and then nodded in agreement. They started walking down to the freight plane airport. Hopefully they could get a plane to travel in, since Modoky was destroyed, all of Asia was free, for now. Before they reached the station, the stone on her wand started to flash. Shakunage picked it up and saw the fairy looking at her. “Why hello there!” smiled Shakunage, “By the way, what should I call you?” The fairy curtsied and said, “Why my name is Takura, silly! Just because I don’t have the same body, or voice, doesn’t mean I’m different. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know, the next place to travel is to North America. There you’ll find the origin of two, veiled by the mirage of the lady, Kanki. Well, goodbye for now!” Takura vanished and the stone became dim and dull again. Shakunage laughed and wiped the tears from her face. “To North America?” Asahi nodded, “To North America.” |
