Modoky looked out his bedroom window to see the plane land. There would be a good feast for him tonight.

“Slaves! Come forth and serve your master!” commanded Modoky as he looked towards the slightly cracked door. In came the peasant couple that had encountered Shakunage at the dump site and revealed what they saw happen when the dog came back from the dead when the girls’ tears had fallen on it. With giving this information, they were upgraded to his personal slaves.

The two walked towards him with their heads down and their eyes averted. They kneeled at his feet and bent forward with their arms outstretched in front to show their praise to him.

“Hail Lord and almighty Modoky, god of wrath and war. Hail to the divinity in your soul,” chanted the two together.

“I want you to tell the cooks that I will be having carrion this evening. And I will need to be dressed in new robes, so make sure that the seamstresses have something tasteful for me as well. Oh! And one more thing…” Modoky lifted up the woman’s head and slashed her throat, then let it fall back down, “I only need one servant. Take her to the crematory.”

“Yes o’ holy one,” said the old man with a bit of grief in his voice. This made Modoky sick with distaste. Why does he grieve for such a harlot? She deserved to die! Besides, she wasn’t exactly the most beautiful woman ever! “Wait! On second thought, take her to the cooks to be skinned and boiled with the rest of the carrion that is going into my stew,” said Modoky with an evil smirk on his face.”

The old man got up and dragged his wife’s corpse out of the room. A trail of blood followed from a small puddle of blood at his feet. A black dog came over and started to lap up the blood up. “How I tire of these stupid humans!” sighed Modoky. “I would rather be done with them all as soon as possible!”

“But what of me, your wife, my husband, and lord?” said a woman’s voice coming from a shaded chair to the left of the window. She leaned forward into the light of it; Takura’s face was lit by the setting sun. “Am I not a human? Do you tire of me as well?” “Of course not my love!” said Modoky, raising her from the seat. “You are as beautiful as the day you came into my sight! Can you believe that it’s been a year already?” They began to dance to a silent beat, and he caressed her hair.

She looked up into his eyes to see two pools of soft hazel. She stroked his face that was lined with a coat of brown down, and had a nose that was slightly pointed and curved down. He was dressed in a kimono of black, with white lined pictures of feathers on it. She kissed him and wrapped her arms around his thickly built torso. She was happy with where she was, and yet, she was a hint of disgust in her acts, as she was the one who betrayed Shakunage and gave him the plan to send a decoy in place of her. Well, what’s done is done; there was nothing she could do to change it. Unless she was to repent for her sins and defy Modoky, then she wouldn’t be condemned in her next life. But she was scared of what her husband might do, so she stayed where she was now, doomed for eternity.

The two scraggly men moved quickly to unload the plane, but disappeared into the shadows before the plane took off again in its return trip. They walked along the manor’s perimeter and found a secluded area that was near a small lake.

“Luna Pen Disrobe!” whispered the bearded man as he held up the pen. The pen shimmered and their disguises melted away to reveal their true forms.

“Oh my back! I never had to do such hard labor before!” said Shakunage as she rubbed the bottom half of her back.

“Didn’t you use to work at the dump before, though?” asked Asahi.

“Yeah, but I was usually I was usually assigned to digging for grub worms and such. Mot this kind of lifting!” she explained, dusting off her rags. Asahi noticed the rags that she was wearing and the dirty militia uniform that he wore. “We should try to find travel wear that would be suitable for us, but wouldn’t make us stand out from others.”

“But I haven’t seen anything around here that could suffice for travel wear.” said Shakunage, “Wait! Look over there!” She pointed to a line of clothes that hung and a washer woman pining up some more to dry. “There are some clothes that look feasible enough for what we’ll be doing.” Shakunage crept along the trees to a spot right next to the line. She tiptoed out; looking for any kind of guards, but none could be seen. She took down a pair of black trousers along with a white tunic and tossed it over to Asahi. Then she grabbed a pair of beige trousers and a faded yellow tunic. She took it back to the hiding place and changed quickly. But before she went back into the woods, she left a small bag of coins that she had earned from working on the plane, to compensate for what they took.

“Once changed, they discussed their next plan of action was going to be. “We should find his chamber, hide under his bed, and wait till he falls asleep, then we’ll take him out then,” suggested Asahi.

“But how do you expect to get in with those entire daemon roaming around in their?” asked Shakunage. “I say that we barge in during his dinner and take on whatever he’s got!”

“Yeah, and get our heads chopped of while we’re at it,” said Asahi sarcastically.

“Well then what do you think we should do about the daemons?” growled Shakunage.

“I distinctly remember a chest that held the daemons when my militia came here with the news about you and Modoky wanted to “repay” us for our good service.” Shakunage shuddered, “My Goddess! These warlords of the Shogun are nothing, but pure evil.”

“I know,” said Asahi, “Anyway, we should first try to destroy the chest first, then when Modoky has lost that power, we can take him out.” Shakunage nodded, “Do you know where the chest is held?”

“It’s in a hall in the west wing of the manor, which is right over… there!” Asahi said as he pointed to a large stained glass window. There was a small door to the right of it. Its shabby wood color was almost engulfed by the bright colors of the window. On the window, was a picture of Modoky standing on a pile of bodies of those who resisted him. It was most likely to show his power and to intimidate others.

“Lets wait until nightfall, that way we won’t be noticed,” said Shakunage. Asahi nodded and they sat, waiting for the time to pass, and the dark night swallow up the light of the day. They woke up from a nap, and prepared for the fight that was to come. The moon was a circle of beauty, and it sparkled brightly over the land an in the abyss of the night sky.

“Lets go!” said Asahi and they began to move stealthily through the brush. They were before the door and peered through the window to see if any one was in there. The only thing to be seen was the chest, and then they caught a glimpse of Takura. She was dressed in a fine baby blue gown, but was tied up and her face was bruised from a beating.

“Oh Takura!” said Shakunage as she went to open the door, but was stopped by Asahi. “What are you doing? Takura’s in danger!” Asahi shook his head, “I’m just telling you to be cautious, and it could be a trap.” Shakunage nodded, then slowly opened the door, letting it slide open by itself while standing to the side of the door frame. She peeked in to see if anything was amiss. Takura saw her and her eyes brightened. Asahi walked in, looked around, and motioned her to come in.

Shakunage moved over to Takura and removed the gag that covered her mouth. “Takura! Oh I’m so glad to see you!” She hugged her friend, but then felt something very weird. Takura was hugging her back, but Asahi hadn’t set her free, or she. Then Takura whipped her around and held a dagger to Shakunage’s throat.

Takura gave a slight giggle, “Ah Shakunage! The simple minded fool! You came to save me from evil, but never expected me to become evil myself.” Shakunage saw Asahi become surrounded by the daemons. He reached for his sword, but Takura tasked at him, “Oh come now! You know the rules of a hostage-taking! If you try to hurt us, then we’ll have to hurt the hostage.” Asahi sighed and raised his hands in the air. Takura motioned for the daemons to take him, but didn’t manage to notice Shakunage, as she managed to stomp on her foot, elbow her in the stomach, and flip Takura onto her back, sending the dagger sliding into the shadows.

Asahi moved quickly as he unsheathed his sword, which initiated the reanimation of his armor over his body, and began to slice and dice the daemons with the sword of blazing fire. He then heard a scream, as Shakunage was picked up by a large figure with features of a frog and thrown against the wall, knocking her unconscious. Asahi yelled, “Shakunage!” and charged at the demon beast. It waved an arm up and an invisible force pushed him back against the wall with a crash as he hit it. It walked towards him and smiled at the Apollo Knight. It was green with black spiked hair and deep red eyes. Its mouth was a mess of razor sharp teeth and a long sticky tongue that licked its lips.

“Mmm, dinner!” said the frog demon.

“Stop Midare! I command you, stop!” said Takura as she stood up. Midare growled, “What do you mean? Are you going soft on me?”

“No, you fool!” said Takura, “Modoky’s orders were to bring them back alive!” Midare looked confused, “What are you talking about? Modoky said no such thing! It’s my impression that the dark stone had not taken its full effect on you. Well, we must have no mistakes.”

Midare waved an arm and the dagger that Takura originally had, returned to its owner, but in her stomach instead of her hand. Takura looked down in horror, then looked up with sadness, and fell to the floor. Midare turned back on the Apollo Knight, “Now it’s your turn! Hmm, I wonder how you would taste grilled.”

“Keep on wondering, you vile dog!”

Midare turned again to see Shakunage get up, “Moon… Silver… Make-up!” Midare shaded his eyes with his free hand from the bright light that came from the pendant. When the light reduced, there standing was the mystical Sailor Moon. Midare whipped his head back at the Apollo Knight to try to get rid of him. He never got the chance though, because a disk of golden light shattered his atomic structure, turning him into a pile of dust.

The Apollo Knight slumped from where he had been raised three feet, coughing from the choke hold that Midare had on him. Shakunage came over and helped him up, he held up his hand, which had a fireball in it, and threw it at the chest. As it collided with it, it ignited into a nice camp fire and then dissipated into a pile of embers. Shakunage kneeled down to Takura and cradled her head in her lap and arms. Takura stirred, “Shaku-chan. I missed you.”

Sailor Moon smiled, “I missed you as well.” Tears began to form in each others eyes. “I’m sorry Shaku-chan! I didn’t mean to join forces with Modoky. I guess I just wasn’t strong enough.”

“Hush now,” whispered Sailor Moon. Dear Queen Cosmos, I love her so much. Please take her into your forgiving arms. She is but a lost lamb trying to find her way. Sailor Moon looked down to see a lifeless Takura lying in her arms.

“Oh Takura!” cried Sailor Moon, with tears falling onto Takura. A blue hue began to glow over Takura’s body, and then shrank to a spot above her heart. A small, fuzzy sphere rose from Takura’s chest. If you looked closely, you could see a translucent fairy flutter its wings.

“Sailor Moon!” came a loud and echoing voice from the tiny epicenter, “I come to thee to give you the Blue Crescent Moon Wand! Hold out your hand and receive this gift of The Queen with loving arms!”

Sailor Moon held out her hand and the fairy began to trace a 3-D figure eight before her open palm. Fairy dust erupted form the fairy in mass amounts as the fairy began to pick up speed. As the fairy raised top speed, a shower of glitter and light exploded. When the light was gone, a blue crescent moon sat on a silver handle. With closer examination, the blue crescent moon was made of steel not known to those on earth, with an indentation in the moon above where the handle merged with the moon. The silver handle was carved with spirals and magical symbols and a white stone was laid into the hilt.

“This is the Blue Crescent Moon Wand!” said the fairy, “To use it, call out the words ‘Moon Rotation Sensation!’, while respecting each point of the compass. And now for the finishing touch.” The fairy flew onto the indentation in the crescent wand. “It has been a pleasure to serve you Sailor Moon.” The fairy curtsied and then solidified into a smooth blue stone with the symbol of the moon inside of it.

The Apollo Knight came over and helped her up. She nodded to him and they walked out of the hall to complete the final stage.
