Author: Divine Calendula Title: Sailor Moon N(ouveau) Chapter: 3. Sword of Fudomyoo Rated: PG-13 Asahi woke up from the dream he’d been having. Actually, it was more of a nightmare from what he could remember. Around him were the lifeless masses of body parts that once resembled his comrades in the militia. He shook his head from the dizziness that he felt come on him subtle, but quick. Then a bright light shimmered throughout the room. Asahi shunned his eyes from the brightness. Then it stopped, and Asahi lowered his arms and saw that he was no longer in the room of massacre. Instead, he was in a great hall that extended in both ways for what could be described as infinity. The hall was made of a dark marble that reflected the light that came from the luminescent crystal chandeliers hanging in midair, or at least, that’s what it looked like. A red carpet ran along the floor, and tapestries of all sorts of colors hung over the night-like walls. “Welcome Sir Asahi!” came a voice from a hidden source. A figure began to materialize in front of him. He looked startled and took a few steps backwards, then tripped over a snag in the carpet. He looked up to see an ageless woman with flowing black hair stand in front of him. Her complexion was fair and creamy and her eyes were a light golden color. She wore a large diamond coronet atop her head and a white flowing gown to match it. “Who are you?” asked Asahi. His eyes were wide with awe and with a touch of fear. “Do not be frightened my dear!” said the woman, “I have been sent by The High Queen Fudasuki of the Cosmos to reveal your destiny. My name is Odayuka la Libra, messenger of the queen and balancer good and evil. Kneel Sir Asahi! And receive your fate!” Asahi looked defiantly at Odayuka, but reluctantly knelt in front of her. She held out her hand and a sword of flames materialized with the hilt lying warm in the palm of her hand. It was a gold hilt with rubies and garnets encrusted into the cross of the hilt. The blade was of an unknown metal that shone almost as bright as Odayuka herself. She lowered the blade, tapped the shoulders of Asahi, and said, “Rise Apollo Knight! And seize the sword of Fudomyoo!” As Asahi rose, he looked to see the dirty and smelly uniform of the village militia melt off of him to leave his naked body behind. Then a new armor of gold and silver formed over his body and molded to his muscles. Down his back flowed a deep crimson cape held on his shoulders by two large garnet gemstones. Odayuka placed the sword in its red velvet scabbard and belted it around his waist. “Apollo Knight!” decreed Odayuka, “I charge you with the duty to protect and serve Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshis whenever they are in dire need!” “It is my honor and my pleasure to carry out such a mission,” bowed the Apollo Knight. Then the light grew brighter again, too bright for his eyes and covered his eyes. When he lowered his eyes this time, he could see that he was on the shore of a beach and a commotion was going on a couple of yards away. From what he could see, was a girl running thought the opening of a wooden pair of high-arch doors that floated in the air. He recognized the she was Shakunage and most likely that she was the one chosen to be Sailor Moon. Well, he couldn’t just stand there! He had been charged to protect her. So he took up his sword, watching the door shut and disappear, swore and oath, and charged into the mass of demons that had slaughtered his friends. It was payback time! His blade met quickly with the daemons’ chests and sliced threw easily, leaving a burn mark where he sliced. He then noticed that flames entwined the sword, like serpents entangling their prey. A ring of daemons was closing in on him, but he strangely knew what to do. He raised his hand into the sky and a ball of fire erupted from his palm, incinerating anything in its path. He lowered his hand and looked at it with amazement. He then came to his senses and returned to his attack with an assurance of adrenalin that he never felt before, and he liked it! It was an onslaught of blazing metal, magic flames, and burning flesh as the group of daemons began to shrink in size. “Fall back!” yelled Modoky as he took flight in the opposite direction. The daemons ran into the shadows and disappeared. The Apollo Knight walked up to where Shakunage had disappeared into the secret temple. He knew that he saw follow her in was another daemon, but it was larger than the others were and wore a red cloak to show its higher rank. He looked around to see if there was anything to let him into the temple, then he found it. It was on a rock that had an indentation on it for most likely some type of crystal, but then inside the indentation, was a slender hole, just the right size for his sword. He raised his sword and plunged it into the slot. It then began to slowly spin with clicks and spinning noises of sprockets. The doors appeared on front of him and opened up. The Apollo Knight took up his sword and proceeded to walk into the temple, stopping to take a quick glance around. He wouldn’t be letting anyone follow him into the temple. Continuing to walk in, the doors closed behind him and disappeared. Behind him lay nothing but sand and daemon remains. All was still… for now. |
