After their little 'bathroom break' the girls decided that they were over due in the dinning room. "Girls, how nice of you to join us." Jeff remarked. The girls smiled. "Oh I know," Kyle started, "it almost makes you wonder what they were d.....ooufgh!" Kyle cried out in pain, he wasn't able to finish the sentance because he was being kicked in the shin by Jim. Liz rolled her eyes. 'How child like of you to say something like that Kyle. Uh, a raise of hands to anyone that was shocked that a foolish little man would say such a foolish little thing? Hmm... intresting, no show of hands in here.' Liz looked at the look given between Jim and Kyle. Jim was obviously trying to get Kyle to do something when Kyle stood up and pulled out Liz's chair. Liz looked up at Kyle then down at the chair and back up to Kyle, she then took the seat next to her mother and left Kyle standing there with his jaw dropped. 'Okay... Liz. That's how it is? I try to be nice and all. I even give you a hug when we met, just like I was told. You wanna be a wench? Fine with me. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I didn't even want to be here. I would much rather be with Tess.' Kyle looked up from his thoughts and saw a blonde curly haired girl who walked in with the other dancers. 'Speak of the devil. Dude she looks like a bottle of mixed emotions ready to explode. Something must be wrong. I'll talk to her tonight, see what is the matter.' Just as he finished his thoughts, Tess looked at him and caught his gaze. He smiled as did she in return. Maria saw this whole thing unravel before her eyes. 'Figures,' she thought, 'go for Miss. Blonde Bimbo. You don't even see a good thing when it's right in front of you. Calling all blondes, preferably hussies, man is on the prowl. Kyle Valenti, he man boob lover.' Maria rolled her eyes in complete disghust. 'Sorry sist'a' she thought reffering to Liz, 'Ah well, ya never liked him anyways.' "Ahem!" Jim cleared his throat. There was obviously something up here. 'To much scilence.' He concluded. Maria blushed in embarressment. She hadn't realized the pissed off look on her face as she was in her world. She sat down in the chair Kyle had pulled out for Liz. Kyle then rolled his eyes and took his seat. About an hour later after dinner, dessert, and talking, they were ready to go to the dance. " Are you ready to boggie?!" Nancy asked. Liz looked up at her mom as if she had seen an alien. "Uh... actually Nance Lizzy doesn't feel too well. So we're just gunna go up to the cabin." Maria said in a hurry. "Er...Yeah I'm really sorry mom." "Well, okay girls. Liz if you don't feel your up to it. Get some rest." "Don't worry we will." Both the girls said nsync. 'Freaky!' They thought. ~OUT SIDE~ The girls had not stepped three feet from the dinning room when Maria came out with... "Okaaay... don't thank me in a hurry." "Thank you for what?" Liz asked confused. "Uh...Hmm. Gee Liz... this one's hard! C'mon girl giving you the excuse to high-tale it outta there!" "Well Maria, thank you. But let me rest you assured that I truly WAS about to be sick. That was NO excuse." Both the girls laughed as they came to the main path. They were talking about their favorite events from the evening and not so favorite events from the evening. "Mmmm... I especially was enthused when Jim began to talk about Kyle and his bed wetting problem when he was seven. I 'bout died from laughter." Liz giggled. "Uh.. if I remember correctly, the only thing that was about to kill you was when you choked on your glass of water when your dad was telling about your fear of garbage dispos...." "Shh... Maria be quiet will you?!?!" "What?!? If your really that embarressed by the whole thing I'll quit." "I'm sorry. It's not that. But, do you hear that music?" "Yeah, I wonder where it's coming from." "Over there." Liz pointed in the direction of the staff headquaters. "C'mon let's go see what it is." "Oh Maria, I really dont' think we should" Maria heavily sighed, "Liz, you said so yourself that this place was as boring as watch a snail crwal across a rock." "I never said that!" "Yeah yeah. But you know, that I know, that you know, that this is boring. (~If you didn't know, I got that from FRIENDS, I thougt it was a cute line. ; ) ~) So c'mon Liz, all the cool kids are doing it!" "Fine! But Maria... if I go down, you are SO going down with me." "Yeah, yeah, I get it... Titantic sinks, so does Maria. Now, let's go!" Maria said as she dragged her off toward the blasting music which was currently playing the opening bars for 'Caramel' by City High. (I know, wrong time zone for the movie. But I wanted to save the 60's music for later scenes and make the year '01'.) It wasn't 3 seconds before they reached a sign that read 'Staff Headquaters. No Guests Please!' Liz and Maria smiled at eachother before they ran off across the bridge that seprated them from a set of stairs which led to the big cabin where all the music was coming from. On their way across the bridge they saw Alex Struggling with three watermelons. "HEY WAIT!" Maria shouted, "Let us help you." "I'm fine. You guys shouldn't be here." Alex said. "See Maria! I knew we shouldn't have come! Were gunna be in soo much trouble. GREAT! C'mon let's go before we really get busted." Liz said in a frantic motion. "Liz! Simm'a Down!" Maria laughed, " We're not in trouble. I'm sure Alex won't say anything." She turned to Alex. "We were just taking a walk." She pointed to the watermelons, "Here, let us hel you." She said grabbing one and making another fall, causing him to lose his balance. Liz caught the fallen watermelon. And luckily, Alex fell in the grass next to the rocky pavement. "No. Liz is right," he started, "you two should go back to your little play pen." At this comment, both of the girls put the watermelon they carried back in his arms and started waling away. "Wait," Alex said, "can you two keep a secret?" He asked. "Yeah." Liz replied. "Your parents would kill you. Jim would kill me." They each carried a watermelon up the stairs. By the time they got in the music/people/smoke filled cabin, 'Caramel' was ending and 'I Wanna Know' by Joe was just beggining. They made their way back tables where there were drinks and snacks and ashtrays. They found Max and Tess who had just got off the dance floor to get a few drinks. Liz was about to go say 'Hi' to Max but noticed a girl all over him and sudden felt as if she was going to cry. She quickly turned around hoping Max wouldn't notice her. "Liz, hey." She heard him call. Turning around she said, "Oh, hey Max." She was getting even more uncomfortable my the moment seeing how that blonde was hanging all over him. "C'mon Max! Let's go dance." The blonde said so lazily you could tell she was drunk from a mile away. "Hold on. I wanna talk to Liz for a second." With that, Max led her to a quieter area. "Liz, I'm really sorry about Tess. She gets a little weird after a few." 'So, the houch has a name.' Liz thought but responded with, "It's okay Max. Don't worry about it." "Well, I am sorry." "I know Max... It's all right, I told you." "Okay. So, you wanna dance?" "I'd love to." They were on the floor not even thirty seconds when the song ended followed by 'Rock The Boat' by Aaliyah. The style of everybody's dancing style chaged almost immeditly. People started grinding, girls started vibrating and guys were doing fancy footwork. Max could see that Liz felt really out of place. So he took her arms and put them around his neck. He then put his hands on her hips and started swaying. "Good, good. Now put a little roll in it." He advised her. Liz looked up at him and smiled her bighest smile. She started geting a little brave by dipping down infront of him and quickly rising as she saw other girls doing around her. ~By Maria~ 'Where is Liz?? She just abonded me with Blondie over here?' Maria thought until she saw Liz and Max dancing over in on the floor. 'Oh, I see. Damn girl, where'd you learn to dance like that? OOh.... work it girl work it. Uh huh!' Maria was getting so into being happy for her friend she didn't notice Michael coming up to her and Alex. "Hey Alex, what's she doing here?" Michael asked. "She's with me... she came with me." Alex resopnded laughing. Not wanting Michael to the wrong impression she quickly corrected Alex, " I carried a watermelon." Michael looked at her weirdly and walked off. "I carried a watermelon?!?!" Maria asked herself in disbelife. TBC |
