Liz's parents had brought Liz and Maria on another fun-filled trip. They usually did something fun and outdoorsy, but this time Liz and Maria weren't so lucky. Liz's parents decided to go to Valenti's. It was kind of like a camp. There was horseback riding, comedy shows in the lounge or as some people called it, "The Central House." There were campsites, cabins and mini hotels surrounding it. And in the West wing, the mini one roomed homes for the employees. Mr. Valenti and her parents had been friends way back in high school. Ever sense Valenti had been successful, he had been trying to get the Parkers up. Finally Mr. Parker had given in and decided to give Valenti's a try. Once they had gotten to Valenti's they were greeted with Mr. Valenti himself. "Jeff! So I finally got you to my hotel, huh?" Mr. Valenti bellowed. "So you did. Jim, you remember my wife Nancy, our doughter Liz and her friend Maria whom is like our very own, don't you?" Mr. Parker asked. "Of course, of course!" Jim stated. Turning to the girls he added, "Ya know girls, If it wasn't for Jeff here I wouldn't be standing here to day!" Considering her dad was a doctor, for the first time sense they had arrived, Liz spoke up, "O? How wonderful." And Maria just kept smiling. A young man of about 19 just Maria and Liz's age came up to Mr. Valenti. "You guys, this is Alex, he'll be around to help you all if you need anything." Jim said as Alex smile and nodded to each of them. Then Jim snapped his fingers and pointed to the trunk of the Parker's car. Maria and Liz walked over to help Alex unload the luggage while Jeff, Nancy and Jim stayed talking. "Hey," Alex laughed, "you two want a job here?" He asked the two girls. "Anything to keep us busy." Maria stated. "Yeah and besides," Liz started, "what else is there to do? I'm not a kid, an adult or a senior citizen. I'm 19!" Alex laughed. "Yeah I'd have to agree with that one. I know that if I weren't a worker here I'd be bored out of my mind." "Any suggestion?" Maria asked. "Well, there's always dancing lessons." Alex said. "Dancing lessons?" Liz asked. "Yeah you know, the Mambo, Cha-cha, stuff like that." Alex said while unloading the last of the luggage. "Hmm ... sounds like fun." Liz said. ************** "C'mon ladies! God didn't give you shoulders if he didn't want you to ssshhhaaakkkeee 'em!" The dance instructor, Isabel, yelled above the music. She was trying to show a group of hopeless beginners a couple of simple steps and was getting absolutely no where. "Okay ladies, when I say go I want you to find the man of your dreams. GO!" Liz went for her father to find he was already taken by Isabel. She ended up with an elderly woman. Maria on the other hand ended up with a handsome instructor. After the lesson it started to rain so the girls made they're way to their cabin early. Liz's parents had a cabin of their own down the path. "So Maria, I saw you dancing with that instructor. Very cute if I do say so myself. "Liz teased. "Liz, NO! Don't even think it! He was just an instructor!" Maria insisted. "Yeah, just an instructor, I think you learned the most! Did you even get his name?" "No. But I'm sick of talking about this so I'm gunna go to sleep." "MARIA! It's noon." "Then a nap then." Liz rolled her eyes as she turned on the t.v. and let Maria take her "nap". When Maria woke up she asked, "What time is it?" "About 4:00-o-clock. And you better hurry because I just talked to my dad and he said we had to be ready for dinner and a dance afterwards in less than a half an hour." "Awe man.... Okay I'll be ready." When the girls were finally ready, It was 10 minutes before the dinner house opened. They were walking up when they heard Mr. Valenti yelling at some of his employee's. "Now, I want you all to be on your best behavior." Jim said as 2 men and 2 women came in the room form what must have been the back way. One of the men was the one Maria had been dancing with earlier, tall, brown hair, gray eyes, buff. The other man was only what Liz could describe as beautiful. He had dark dark brown hair, brown eyes that she could jump into and swim in forever, and he was built. If she wasn't leaning against the door her knees would probably give out. Both of the women were blonde. Alex was staring at the one with the long blonde hair. "Got that Evans? Teach the girls how to dance, nothing else. They're just your age, SO KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF!" And with that Jim stormed out of the room. "Can you handle that Max? Keep your hands off?" A waiter asked. "You just do your job Grant, leave the hard stuff to me." Max said with a snarl. With that Max, and the other three went towards the exit Liz and Maria were standing at. Max flung the door back and hit Liz in the face with the door. "Ow!" Liz yelped in pain. "O I'm sorry!" Max yelled. It wasn't until he had looked up to see what he had hit when he honestly felt sorry. TBC |
