Editor's Words Hello everyone!!!!! Well I’m the author of "Destined To Be…" Linez actually helped me picked the title of this story I wrote. (Thank you, Linez!) As everyone knows that Hontokoi Yatsunaga is Kaede Rukawa really good friend. Everyone must be thinking how Hontokoi was created. I was having a long holiday last year when I watched this Slam Dunk animated series introduced by a close friend of mine and found myself liking the series very much. Just out of the blue I had this inspiration to write when I saw Rukawa. I was actually intrigued by his quietness and coolness towards everyone and especially towards girls. So I thought of creating someone for him... and that was how Hontokoi came up. I made Hontokoi’s life a little bit dramatic so that there was something I thought would catch Rukawa’s attention. Nobody knows how Rukawa really is like, after all he is still just a cartoon. By his attitude shown in the series everyone knows that Rukawa does not care for anyone in the world but his basketball. So that is why I made Hontokoi a really good basketball player, besides that a good coach and the daughter of the great coach of one of the best basketball team in the Itaka University. (This University does not exist I just made it up because I do not know any Uni in Japan.) . Well everyone must have read the ending of the story and maybe even think why Rukawa is so soft suddenly… ermm… actually I do not know how to explain that either. I just thought about it that is all. Besides he being always cold in Japan does not mean that he would be when he leaves the country and goes into another place. Besides he does has feelings for Hontokoi and I had put it that way that when he is in the States it will be the best time he shows his feeling for Hontokoi and suddenly Hontokoi was afraid to show hers so she became cold instead. Lame right… I think so too. Actually Linez and I were trying to figure out how to change the ending but we ended up looking at it with question marks all over our heads. So I decided to keep it as it is. If there is any problem then sorry it’s just too bad. I want to thank those who had supported my work especially Linez from Singapore who has gave me the most support. She had been a great friend of mine and had been there for me when I needed someone to talk to. She had sacrifice a lot of her time on me and I really want to give a million thanks and all my gratitude. There is no one like her that has been such a great friend to me and therefore I want to dedicate this story specially to her. Thank you Linez, I really appreciate what you had done for me and thanks for putting this story up own your site it really means a lot to me too. Lin Ann 4th August 2000.
