| I know how hard it is to get hits to your website so I've made this page for Friends webmasters everywhere to help them get their page noticed. If you find this helpful, please return the favour and link my site so I can get more hits too! |
| My Free-for-all-links page - if you haven't already added your link, do it now! All I ask is that your site is about Friends and that you return the favour. More Free-for-all-links pages - this is a list of links pages that I've found so that you can add your site to lots of pages. Remember to return the favour to all these sites. My Top 30 Sites - Add your site to my list and as you get more votes, you rise further up the list and get more hits! One site on my list has had over 500 hits from it! Other Top Sites - This is a page of all the top sites I'm a member of, why not join any that you're not already a member of? Earn Money from you site - ok, so this isn't extra hits but it's extra cash! Visiters to your site can buy posters from your site and you get a percentage of what they spend. Pretty cool. |
| General Tips I see a lot of fabulous Friends sites that make me very jealous! I also see a lot that really need work so here are some tips for improving your site. I don't mean to offend anyone, I just wanna be helpful. I visit as many Friends sites as possible and I notice that a lot of them are identical - same "who is your favourite Friend" polls (it's normally Chandler), theme tune playing in the background (very annoying!), 101 facts, drinking game and lots of other things that have just been copied from other sites. I even see a lot of my material copied onto sites which really annoys me. My point? BE ORIGINAL! Try to think of things that other people don't have on their pages. If you do wanna take an idea from another site, try to alter it a bit and don't forget to give credit to the creator. I see my "A-Z of Friends" and my "Obsessed?" pages copied word-for-word on lots of Friends sites and it really isn't fair on me. If you have a Geocities site, please don't use those annoying things that follow your mouse around or things that bounce around the screen. It's SO annoying and I normally leave the site instantly - and I'm sure I'm not alone in this opinion. I used to have a pic following the mouse on my page and I got a lot of complaints! Also, Geocities guestbooks aren't that nice, they look boring. Why not try one from Bravenet or another webtools provider. Another thing with Geocities is that the pictures often over lap or the links don't work - I always preview my page first to make sure. |
