The Gospel According to Matthew /

*I. Of Jesus our King, the descendant from David We trace generations, forty-two avid
Backed to Abraham, where they did begin Generations after Adam and Eve?s Original Sin
A child! Lo, in a stable be He born Emmanuel He is named, at God?s right hand sworn Gold, frankincense and myrrh be given (from rulers humb?ld) To Royal Heir and Priestly Prophet in (to Him embalmed)
Through the Holy Spirit was conceived our world?s Saving Light Through the virgin mother Mary, He was born into our world?s night Herod the Great! A thousand eyes watched for that your bloody sword To murder our savior, although in time He departed as the Magi before
He returned from Egypt, fulfiller of prophesy Dreams did He walk for, nothing to less see A dead king of evil deed, a new one arisen Where ghastly memories faded in His land unchangen
*II. Prepare the way of the Lord! Cried he, John the Baptist, the desert?s ward Make strait His paths! I am but a humble servant, unworthy of His sandals
But no! John our Savior Jesus commanded to baptize Him And let righteousness be furthermore thrilled, to Him brim: This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased And so God the Father spoke to through water and Heaven cleansed
In the place of forty days wrought in the Desert of Temptation The fury and horror of evil ripped through Satan?s relentless recitation As he barraged our Lord with lust, fame and power?s destruction But He would not bow to Lucifer, for sake of God?s Heavenly Nation
Jesus left Nazareth, His childhood Home For the life of John the Baptist was to foreign worlds thrown    To Galilee! Beyond Jordan to the Sea! Light through Darkness? storm! Lead Zebulun and Naphtali!
He net fishers of men, to mend the sins of Great Multitude And gather did His followers at His sermon mount around Him A new Spirit of the Law to bring moral empathy, knowing within the dim Through the beatitudes the Kingdom of God is granted anew
Heaven?s glory shines through a world of morbidity To Gehenna menichal do not go By way of sin, lest you begin A foolish journey,  ruinous collapse of no returning
*III Lands of sage He traversed with His message unending Healing with compassion all of faith rendering Them disciples of good deed to harvest the world And rewarding them in Heavenly glory their new life?s herald
Our Lord rejected by unrepentant towns tarried on Through Pharisee? challenges and demons unwilling To part accursed tradition of evil conquest upon The Kingdom of Heaven?s neverending saga of living
