Journal 6
1.  What is the main idea in Chapter 6?
The main idea in Chapter 6 is that we are called to be one in a community with Christ.  The Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to come together in a community.  Their faith in God allowed them to stay a community through their joys and their persecution.  The Holy Spirit helps to maintain the Catholic community today.

2.  What are two important ideas in Chapter 6?
There are many gifts that come from the Holy Spirit   The gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, courage, piety, and fear of the lord.  The fruits of the spirit are: charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control and chastity.
In the Acts of the Apostles, there are many examples of the Holy Spirit at work.  After Pentecost, the disciples were able to speak in different languages.  Peter and John were able to cure a crippled man.  An angel freed a disciple who had been jailed.

4.  The question this chapter brings to mind is
How is the Holy Spirit present in our world today?

I believe the Holy Spirit is active in the work of Missionary groups around the world who are reaching out a helping hand to the poor.  When we as human beings feel compelled to treat everyone with justice and respect, the Holy Spirit is active in our world.
