Journal 4
1.  What is the one key idea of Chapter 4?
The key idea of chapter 4 is that we as Christians are called to be compassionate.  What this means is that Christians need to stop focusing on themselves and instead follow Jesus and help others.  When a person follows Jesus, they must act as Jesus would.  The saying WWJD-what would Jesus do is a great way to help a person decide if they are acting the right way.
2. What are two major ideas from this chapter?
Jesus demonstrates his commitment to God through the way he lives his life.  Mark?s gospel describes Jesus? actions and how they reflect his commitment to God.  Mark also describes how Jesus calls other to discipleship.  Mark?s gospel has three sections that describe how Jesus called the disciples.  Jesus demonstrates his commitment to God and we can demonstrate our commitment to God also by following Jesus.

4.  One significant question I have from this chapter is how do you know if God is calling you and how  can you determine the best way to serve God in your life.

5.  Living the Gospel question- In imitation of the Gospel writer Mark, the disciples, Peace Pilgrim and others like them, what steps are you willing to take to tell others of the good news?  Chose one step you will take within the next week.
I like to go to Life Teen at my church.  I have met some really nice kids there and we talk about religion.  Some of the kids I know won?t go because it is not ?cool.?  I will try to convince at least one of them to join me at Life Teen after Sunday mass.
