| GENERAL INFOMATION According to "Hawaii visitors and convention breau",The State of Hawaii is comprised of 8 major islands. Meausuring from its submarine base in the Hawaian Trough to the top of the mountain Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world with a combined height of 33,476 feet. The 2000 population for the State of Hawaii was 1,211,537 persons, with including visitors of 1,334,023!!Between the 1980 and 2000 Census counts,Hawaii's population grew 25.6 percent. |

| Special Places we went to Haleakala National Park I had heard about the tour to go to see the sunrise or sunset at Harleakala.My friend and I were also interested in those tours.When we got our hotel on the first day in Maui,we asked a reception clerk about it.He recommended us to join the sunrise tour.He told us it was really beautiful and fun! Although we had to get up 2AM!!Some stuffs drove to pick us up and took us ro rheir office,There were about 30 people.We had some muffins and a cup of coffee,then we rented rainsuits looked like cloths for astronaut,helmet and bicycle.The stuff took us to the top of Haleakala mountain, by van.We waited for the sunrise there.It was very cold,but my friend and I were really excited!! The sunrise was so beautiful and amazing!!!I can't forget it.After seeing the sunrise,we took a walk around there,Haleakala's landscape looked like the moon!Then we rode down a bicycle to the bottom of mountain.It was wanderful experiences for me to visit Haleakala mountain : ) |
