A friend told me about a friendship group on the net for ladies called Gateway to Friendship and suggested I might like to join. At that time I knew nothing about groups but decided to give it a try. Of course I got totally confused when I saw so much mail and non of it at this stage was for me but with the help of my new friends I soon got the hang of it and started to enjoy the fun and support. I was even learning to save and insert graphics into my mail.

After a little while I was offered a nice plump cushion. How kind I thought. But that was before I knew why. I didn't know we had a little cookie thief in our midst. Debbie/TBears how could you ?????? I was expected to sit on a fence (on my new cushion) and help get the cookies up the river to our leader. Well I was sharply informed that our leader should not be eating cookies so I joined the cookie patrol. Every day my dog Raine and I patrol to keep our lovely leader healthy. Of course it's difficult with all those fence sitters and some cookies do get through but we try. And it doesn't help t hat our leader is an accomplished cookie thief. Now at this stage I feel I should point out that we have a lovely and very supportive leader who just happens to love cookies just a bit too much lol

Our motto is Gateway Is The Right Place To Be. I have had some lovely times in here and have made some lasting friendships. I have also received much needed support and advice especially when I lost my close friend Erica with cancer of the pancreas. It seems I have gone from crisis to crisis and my friends in my gateway family have been there with me every step of the way with words of comfort and much needed prayers.

I am a proud member of Gateway. I joined the sunshine committee because I wanted to be able to help in some way however small and give support where and when I could. After that I joined the welcoming committee. I joined the welcoming committee because I remembered how happy and welcome it made me feel when I got all the messages welcoming me to the group and I am so happy that I joined the sunshine committee. I didn't actually realize how important the messages of support were until I needed some myself. It really helps to know that some one out there cares when you are feeling bereaved and just generally down sometimes.

I have to thank my friends Debbie/TBears and Charo for allowing me to join Gateway to friendship and the caring and supportive ladies who have made me feel happy to belong to GATEWAY TO FRIENDSHIP. THE RIGHT PLACE TO BE !!!!!!!!!!!
