A month had passed from the first time Alex had spent the night with Aj. Since I had been so "accommodating" Aj had been given temporary shared custody. Since that first weekend, Alex had spent each following weekend with Aj.

I was currently waiting on Aj to bring Alex home. I did have to admit that during the day it was easier for me. But at night, when I would be tucking Alex in, my world seemed darker than it ever had been before. I missed him so much late at night when I couldn’t slip into his room and just check on him. I stood from the couch when the doorbell rang. I smiled when I opened the door seeing Denise on the stoop.

"Hi!" She said as she hugged my neck.

"Wow! I didn’t expect to see you. Hey my little man." I said as I took Alex from her arms and closed the door behind her when she entered the house.

"I decided to stay a little longer this time. Last time I came I could only stay for a few days. So I made sure I could spend more time with my two Alexs." She said as she turned to look at me, concern shining brightly in her eyes. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired." I said sitting down on the couch as Alex took out across the room to his toy box.

"You look exhausted." I nodded and smiled as Alex brought me Mister Lumpy. "You need to take care of yourself. Taking care of a baby is tiring work in itself."

"I know. I’m trying, I just can’t sleep. My stomach, it’s just yucky most of the time." Denise sighed and took my hand in hers. I fought back the tears. Why couldn’t Aj be this loving to me? I thought as I smiled at her.

"I’m sorry dear." She patted my hand and told me everything that Alex had done over the weekend.
