It was once said that "Girls who wear glasses don't get passes." To some guys, this may be true, but don't trade in your glasses for contacts too fast! There is a whole world of guys out there that just LOVE girls in glasses! Come with me and explore this whole other world. I set this site up as an index for other sites that are dedicated to this subject. 

First, a small lesson in GWG 101.

Just what is the attraction? It varies. Here are some of the top reasons I have run across:

  • The Intellectual. This group of guys love GWG's because the glasses give the girl an intellectual look. This is probably the most well known reason to the public.  More...

  • The Christmas Package.  These guys love the concept of "unwrapping" a girl (taking her glasses off) and seeing a different side of her in private.

  • The Lens. One of the most fascinating parts of this attraction, these guys like how the actual lens in the glasses modifies the look of the eye, giving it a mysterious look. Myopic girls who wear negative lenses (Nearsighted) are referred to as "come hither" as the lenses make the eyes look smaller and more curious then when she is without glasses. Plus lenses are referred to as "Bambi's" as the lenses make the eye's look large and accented.   More...

  • The Frames.  Just as a girl may wear jewelry, the glasses are looked at as an accent. Funny, most people know this when it comes to sunglasses, but few realize that it also is true with their everyday glasses.  More...

  • The Collectors. Know that draw you have that has your old glasses in it? It may be worth a fortune! Kid you not, just as some people collect china, stamps, and antiques, there are many who collect eyeglasses! You would not believe some of the prices I have seen paid! High Rx glasses and unusual frames seam to bring in the biggest bids.   More...

  • The Interaction  There is an unconscious interaction between the wearer and her glasses. After all, everything she sees comes through those lenses, they are very personal. (If glasses could talk!) Some people find the way girls sometime handle and play with their glasses fascinating.

  • All of the above!  Many find their attraction to be a combination.

  • Other.  As with any classification system, there are people you just can't classify. This includes some weirdo's as there is with any aspect of the whole male / female world. In all the years of chatting and exploring the GWG cyber-world, I have found them to be a very small minority.

That's the end of GWG 101. My own flavor would have to be "The Lens", specifically, glass lenses which are quite rare these days. (They had a more "real" feel to me than the newer plastic lenses, and made for some romantic "frosty lens" moments in my youth!)

This is one of the oldest and extensive text based sites on the net. Many subjects are covered in the BBS section.  From the medical, to the humorous, there is a little bit for everyone!  It is a very active site with more features being added every week.

 

Smudge Report

  Really funny site! Webmaster is a collector and has a "classified" page for buying and selling specs. Always with some tongue-in-cheek humor, this site has plenty of pictures and links. Some very high resolution pictures are on this site so it sometimes gets overloaded. If it's not up, try again later. (He's a little behind on his updates!)

  On a serious note, this site looks into some of the things we may be doing as a society that actually may be causing or contributing to widespread myopia! It's hard reading and a look at how money and profit may be limiting what information the public gets.
