�Alright, Nick and Kevin unload the truck. I want these renovations done as soon as possible.� Bill ordered his workers. Melissa watched from the window as she saw Nick carry a large piece of equipment. His muscles were tense when he lifted it off the truck.
Sweat dripped down his face as he reached into his tool belt. He looked so sexy in his tee shirt and jeans; she just could help herself by watching him.
�Morning honey!� Melissa jumped when she heard her mother.
�Morning mom.� Melissa blushed, hoping her mother didn�t see her watching Nick.
�So what is so interesting outside?� She asked walking over to the window.
�Nothing.� Melissa quickly walked over the cabinet, grabbing a mug.
Kathleen saw Nick hard at work with the rest of the crew. �So I�m assuming it went well last night.� Melissa blushed. �I�ll take that as a yes.�
�I talked to Nick and he explained what happened.�
�So does that mean you and Nick will get back together?�
�No mom, it doesn�t change the fact that he did sleep with Paige.�
�Honey, it isn�t healthy to hold onto so much hurt. Life is too short to be consumed by anger.� Melissa nodded her head, understanding where her mother was coming from. �So what are your plans for today?�
�I don�t have any.� She said as she dipped her tea bag into her mug.
�It�s a beautiful day out, so why don�t you invite Sam over for a swim?�
�Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I�ll go and call her.� Melissa took her tea and headed towards her room.
�It is so warm out!� Samantha said spreading her towel out over the lawn chair.
�Yes it is. I just hope the water is warm.� Melissa said as she draped her towel over the back of her chair. She dipped her toes in the water and found it to be very warm.
�We are in luck Sam; the water is nice and warm.�
�Good, but I don�t think it would be a problem if it was cold. If we sit out too long that water would feel good no matter what temperature it is.�
�Hey Joe, look at this!� Gary watched as Samantha and Melissa undressed revealing their swimsuits.
�Now that is a nice view!� Joe stated watching Samantha laid down on the lawn chair.
�I�m enjoying this view.� Gary pointed to Melissa as she removed her shorts showing off her hunter green bikini. �That girl has a nice body.�
�You better be careful, Carter might hear you.�
�I don�t care about him. He thinks he can say whatever he wants just because his dad is the boss. Well he can�t stop me from doing anything I want.�
�Is that what you want?�
�It would be fun to get even with Carter and if I get some of that then it is a win-win situation.� They started laughing and then got back to work.
�LUNCH! Be back in an hour!� Bill yelled to his workers.
�Bri, are you having lunch with Sam?�
�Yeah, do you want to join us?�
�No, that�s okay. I�ll just get something in town.� Brian smiled at Nick. �Trust me Nick you want to join us.�
�What are you smiling about?�
�Follow me.� Nick followed Brian to the back of the house. Nick stopped when he spotted Samantha and Melissa. He watched as she slowly put on her jean shorts. She looked so amazing in her bikini; it was going to be a long hour.
�Hi baby!� Samantha smiled as she kissed Brian.
�So what�s for lunch?�
�Mel�s mother made sandwiches.�
�What about a drink?�
�Look in the cooler.� Brian dug into the cooler, finally finding something he liked. �Nick, care to join us?�
Nick walked over and sat down next to Melissa. �Mel.�
�Nick.�
�Mel, Nick? Is that how you two are going to greet each other after last night?� Brian asked smiling.
�Brian!� Samantha snapped. Nick kicked him from under the table.
�You are lucky that I don�t push you into that pool!� Nick stated looking sternly at him.
�MEL!� Melissa turned and saw her mother on the upper level deck. �Telephone for you, it�s your cousin Jenny!� She stood up and went up the stairs. Melissa grabbed the cordless phone from her mother. �Hey Jenny.�
�Hey yourself. How are you?�
�I�m doing better.� Melissa said walking down the stairs joining her friends. �Is everything okay?�
�Everything is fine, why?�
�I thought something might be wrong because you are calling me.�
�Can�t I call my favorite cousin?� Jenny laughed into the phone.
�Jenny, I�m your only cousin.�
�Is that the cousin from Chicago?� Brian asked Samantha.
�Yeah, she was the one Mel stayed with after graduation.�
�They seem close.� Nick added.
�They are. When Brian and I visited Mel in Chicago, those two were joined at the hip.� A sense of dread overwhelmed Nick at that moment.
�So how life in Fairview?� Jenny asked. Melissa looked over at her friends. �It is okay, different from Chicago.�
�I�ll bet. Is everyone treating you alright?� Melissa laughed. �Why? What are you going to do? You are in Chicago.�
�Mel, turn off the phone and look in your driveway.� Jenny hung up, leaving her lost.
�Mel, is everything okay?� Samantha questioned her.
�Um�yeah I think so.� She quickly got up and headed towards the driveway. Brian, Samantha, and Nick followed her.
�Surprise!� There was Jenny standing beside her car in Melissa�s driveway.
�Oh my gosh!�
�Give me a hug, cuz!� Melissa enveloped her cousin in an embrace.
�What are you doing here?�
�I thought I would come and visit you.�
They embraced again. �I�m so glad you did.� Brian, Samantha, and Nick appeared, seeing a young skinny girl with little brown hair. Melissa saw her friends approaching.
�Jenny, you remember Brian and Sam.�
�Yes, I do. Hi again.� Brian and Samantha said hello.

�I know who this is. You are an asshole. Do you know what you put my cousin through?�
�Jenny, stop!� Melissa stated.
�No! Do you know how long she cried over you? Do you?�
�No, I don�t Jenny.�
�Stay away from her.�
�Jenny, please stop.� Melissa pleaded with her. �Come on, I bet my mom would love to see you.� Jenny reluctantly went, but gave Nick a dirty look as she moved.
�Wait, I have another surprise for you.� Jenny knocked on her passenger side door. Out came a tall build, dark haired, hazel eyed man, he was dressed in a collar shirt and jeans. �Do you remember him?�
�Gavin.�
�Hey Mel!� He quickly embraced her in a hug.
�Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?� She asked with him still holding her.
�Well, Jenny told me she was coming to visit you, so I decided to come along.�
�I�m so glad you did. I have missed you.� Melissa said hugging him.
�I missed you too.�
�Wow, he is gorgeous.� Samantha stated.
�Sam.� Brian whispered.
�What?� Brian pointed to Nick. �Oh sorry.�
�Gavin, I want you to meet my friends.� Melissa smiled, but was interrupted.
�Gavin, this is Sam, Brian, and Nick.� Jenny added. Gavin looked at Nick, his facial expression never changed. �You�re Nick?�

�Don�t worry Mel.� Gavin placed his hand out for Nick to shake it. Nick looked at Brian and back at Gavin. Finally he shook his hand. "Thank you.�

�Yes, thank you. If you didn�t mess up what you had with Mel, I wouldn�t have a chance with her.� Melissa grabbed her cousin�s arm and took her off to the side. �What in the hell is Gavin talking about?�
