"Did you know about this tape?" She asked softly. He knew he couldn't lie to her.
"Yes, I knew about the tape. It was sent to the beach house."
"Were you going to tell me about it?"
"Honestly?"
She turned and looked at him. "Honestly. Were you going to tell me about the tape?"
Nick looked away from her and said, "No, I was going to destroy it."
"You tell me not to shut you out, you tell me we will get through this together and then you lie to me!"
"I didn't lie to you Mel, I just didn't tell you about the tape."
Melissa started to laugh at his comment. "Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? You didn't lie, you just didn't tell me!"
"Mel, Nick only did it to protect you." AJ stated, trying to help.
"You knew about the tape too!?" Jeni asked him. AJ nodded a yes. "Did you all know?" She asked the rest of the guys. They all nodded, knowing they couldn't hide it anymore.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me about the tape! We tell each other everything! How could you hide this from me?" Julie asked Jonathon.
"We all thought it would be better if Mel never saw the video! You said it yourself, she has been through enough." Jonathon stated. Melissa watched as one by one, the couples started to fight.
"STOP IT!" She yelled, causing everyone to stop and look at her. "I will not have everyone fighting over my problem. This is the last thing I want to have happen. Adam has ruined my life, but I won't have him ruin yours."
"We're sorry Mel, you're right. I'm sorry Jules, I should have told you. I just wanted to protect you and Mel." Jonathon said.
"I'm sorry too Jonathon, I overacted." Julie stated as she reached for his hand. Melissa smiled to see her friends making an amends. She felt eyes on her and noticed Nick was watching her.
"I'm going to lay down; my head is starting to bother me." And with that Melissa went up the stairs.
Nick sighed, knowing full well that he messed up. "Go and talk to her." Jeni said, hating seeing the couple fighting.
Nick climbed the stairs and slowly walked down the hall. He could hear crying coming from the room he and Melissa were staying in. He opened the door and saw Melissa crying, leaning up against the bed. He quickly went to her and held her in his arms.
"I won't let him come anywhere near you Angel. I promise you that." He stated wiping away her tears.
"I'm not crying about the tape, I'm crying because what all of this has done to our relationship. We are keeping things from each other, we never did that before. I don't want Adam to ruin our relationship."
"You aren't mad at me for not telling you about the tape?"
"How can I be mad at you for keeping something from me, when I did the exact same thing? I didn't tell you about Adam because I wanted to protect you; I know that was what you were doing with the tape. I know you would never hurt me."
Nick felt relief, knowing that she wasn't mad at him. "I'm so sorry Angel; I will never keep anything from you again."
"I will do the same. A handsome man told me that we will get through this together." She said reaching for Nick's hand. He enclosed her hand in his and gave it a squeeze.
"He sounds like a smart man." Nick grinned at her.
"He is, he's my guardian angel, my rock. I love him with everything in me."
"I love you so much Mel and I can't wait till the day that I get to make you my wife."
"In my eyes, I'm already your wife and you are my husband."
"Hmm, I like that. Let me introduce you to my wife, Melissa Carter." Nick stated out loud. Melissa giggled at him; he could always make her laugh. All of a sudden Melissa clutched the back of her head.
"Are you okay Angel?" He asked caressing her cheek with his hand.
"Yeah, it's just my head is starting to hurt."
"Do you want another painkiller?"
"No, those things knock me out. I just need to lay down and rest." She said standing up and with Nick's help, got on the bed. She got under the covers, resting her head on the soft pillow. Nick rose from the bed, but Melissa swiftly grabbed his hand.
"Stay with me." Nick smiled at her, his Angel.
"I'm not going anywhere." He stated as he laid down next to her. He enclosed her in his arms and then kissed the back of her neck. "Night Angel."
"Night Nick."
"How did that tape get from Nick's beach house to here?" AJ asked.
"I don't know AJ, but it was strange how the VCR was already playing when Alyssa turned on the TV." Howie stated.
"None of this is strange, it is all Adam. He wanted Mel to see the tape, to scare her. He likes to have control over her. This is why we have to help Mel!" Julie added. "Look at the damage it is causing Nick's and Mel's relationship!"
"Nick and Mel are fine. I checked on them and they are asleep in each others arms." Jeni replied as she came down the stairs. "They are strong because they have each other.
"They have been through so much. Becky, Nick's career, distances, and now Adam. Still though it all, they love each other even more. I can't stand by do anything."
"We won't honey. We're going to help them. They aren't only our friends, they are family. You help family, when they need you." AJ stated looking at Howie.
"Yes, we help family. Nick and Mel are family and I'll do whatever I can to help."
