Nick headed back to Florida and in a week Melissa would join him. The week went by slowly for Melissa. She spent some time with her family since she wasn�t going to see them for two months. She also kept busy thanks to Julie and Jonathon. Thursday night, Melissa went to a party thrown by her classmate, Anne.
�No more economics and no more Mr. Campbell.� Anne laughed taking a sip of her beverage.
�He wasn�t so bad.� Melissa smiled.
�Mel, he would go on and on about what was wrong with the world. He would ramble on about one subject for the whole hour.�
�Okay, you are right. But we are done for the summer!�
�Yes we are and I can�t wait to go to New York.�
�You are going with Jesse, right?� Melissa asked placing her drink down.
�Yup, we leave Saturday morning. Do you have any plans for the summer?�
Melissa smiled. �Actually I do! I�m going to see my boyfriend.�
�That�s great Mel; I know you have missed him.�
�Yes, I have. It will be nice to see him and know that he won�t have to leave in a couple of hours.�
�Well, I hope you have an amazing time!�
�You too, let�s make a toast.� They grabbed their drinks.
�To us having amazing summers with our guys!�
�I�ll drink to that!� Melissa stated and then took a sip. Anne nodded and did the same.
�So when do you leave?�
�My flight leaves on Friday morning. And it is time for me to leave, so I can make that flight.�
�Well thanks for coming, have a great summer and call me sometime.� Anne said as they hugged.
�You too and I will. Bye!� Melissa walked out of the club and her cell rang.
�Hello?�
�Hey brown-eyed angel.�
�You have wonderful timing Carter.�
�I do?�
�Yeah, I just left Anne�s party and I�m on my way home.�
�Did you have fun?�
�Yeah it was nice to see everyone, but I rather be with you.�
�The feeling is mutual angel. AJ is driving me nuts!�
�Well that�s different; usually it�s you driving him crazy.�
�Hey, is that how you treat the man that loves you?�
�When I see you tomorrow, trust me I�ll show you how much I love you.�
�You are evil Mel!� Nick groaned.
�You love it and you know it!� She could hear him laughing.
�I love you angel.�
�I love you too!� She said as she exited her car. �Not much longer till I get to see those incredible blue eyes again.�
�Well I can�t wait till I get to hold you in my arms.� Melissa smiled to herself, she couldn�t wait for that either. As she opened her front door, something grabbed her, causing her to scream.
�Mel, Mel, are you okay?� Nick yelled into the phone.
