As she shut the door behind her, she placed her purse on the table in the entrance way. The house was completely dark, no signs of anyone. Melissa entered the family room and called out Nick"s name.
"Nick, are you here? Nick"." She spotted a trail of rose petals leading up the steps. Melissa smiled. "What are you up to Carter?" She slowly followed the petals as they guided her to Nick"s and hers bedroom. She gradually pushed the door open and saw the room was lit with hundreds of candles. The candles gave the room a romantic glow. Melissa walked into the room and glanced around.
She walked pass the stereo, playing her favorite songs. By the balcony was a pail that contained ice to keep the champagne chilled. Finally, she walked over to the bed. It was covered in white and red rose petals with a single white rose lying between the pillows. She picked up the single rose and placed to her nose.
"You are remarkable Carter!"
"I"m glad you like it." Nick replied as he appeared in the room.
"What is this all for?" She asked. Nick walked over to her and placed his arms around her waist.
"I wanted to make up for last night. I was out of line and I wanted to show you how much you mean to me." She wrapped her arms around his neck.
"You didn"t have to do all of this. I already know how much you care about me, but thank you. It"s so beautiful, how did you do all of this?"
"Well the guys helped me, while the girls kept you busy!" He smiled down at her.
Melissa laughed, "That"s why I was dragged to store after store today?" Nick simply nodded his head. "You are sneaky Carter!"
"Okay enough about our friends. We have this whole place to ourselves for tonight and I don"t want to waste any moment of it!"
"Jules and Jonathon aren"t staying here tonight?"
"Nope, tonight you are all mine." He stated then gently brushed his lips against hers. Their kisses became passionate as they moved closer to the bed.
Melissa broke away from his embrace and walked out onto the balcony. "Angel, what"s wrong?" He asked standing in the doorway.
She turned and faced him, giving him a smile. "Nothing"s wrong. I just realized how lucky I"m to have you in my life. Before you entered my life, I worked everyday then come home and helped take care of my dad. There were days I just wanted to crawl under the covers and not get out of bed, but I knew I had to. I had to help my family."
Nick stepped out onto the balcony and hugged her. "Everything"s different now Mel. Your dad is doing better and back at work. You quit your job, so you could go back to school and now you are here with me."
She leaned back so she could see his face. "Yes, I am and I wouldn"t want to be anywhere else." She cupped his face with her hands. "I love you Nick Carter with everything in me. I have never loved anyone the way I love you and I know I"ll never will." She tried to hold back her tears, but she couldn"t. "You are it for me Carter, now and forever."
Nick smiled down at her and brushed away her tears. "Good, because I only want you, Angel. I can"t picture my life without you in it; the thought of it makes it hard to breathe. You and me, now and forever."
"Now and forever." She replied softly.
"No more crying, we should be celebrating!" Nick said as he went back into the room.
"Where are you going?" Melissa asked.
"We need to make a toast!" He stated handing her a glass of champagne. "To us and our future together, as long as we have each other, I know we can get through anything." They clink their glasses together and then took a sip of the liquid.
Nick took her glass and sat it down on the table. Then he offered her his hand and said, "May I have this dance?"
"I love to." She stated and placed her hand in his. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he enclosed his around her waist. They slowly swayed to the music, just enjoying being in each others arms. Melissa laid her head against Nick"s chest and she listened to his heart beat. It was the most beautiful sound to her. Nick placed a kiss on her hair and then rested his head on top of hers.
Melissa closed her eyes and got lost in the moment. No one existed in that instant, just them. Nick made this night so memorable with the flowers, candles, and champagne. However, she didn"t need any of that, all she needed was him. She opened her eyes and looked up at him. She tenderly pulled his head down to her and captured him in a kiss. Nick returned the kiss with just as much love and passionate as she did.
"Make love to me Nick." She stated just above a whisper. That was all Nick needed to hear. He picked her up in his arms and carried her into the bedroom. He laid her down gently on the rose petals covered bed. He covered her body with his as he kissed her. Affectionately he kissed her neck and then slowly worked his way down. He gradually helped her remove her shirt then he placed sweet kisses on her chest and stomach.
As he kissed her body, Melissa ran her hands under his shirt. She needed to feel his skin on hers. Her hands ran up and down his spine causing Nick to shiver. He broke away from her, so he could do away with the piece of clothing. Once he did, his lips returned to hers.
Melissa"s hands found the button on Nick"s jeans and unbuttoned them. She hungrily pushed them down off his hips. After he discarded his jeans, Melissa flipped them so she was on top of him. She lovingly nibbled on his ear and then positioned moist kisses down his chest. The remainder of their clothes laid on the floor of the bedroom. With one kiss, he slowly entered her and felt the most intense sensation. The sensation grew as they flowed in rhythm with each other. They became one as their bodies trembled with ecstasy.
Nick reclined on the bed, pulling Melissa with him. She rested her head on his chest and placed her arm around his waist. He lovingly brushed her hair from her face. "Goodnight Angel, I love you."
She looked up at him. "Goodnight, I love you Nick." She laid a soft kiss on his lips and then returned to her original position. In minutes, they both fell into a serene sleep.
