Jenn grinned as she pulled her truck into the garage. She could hear the dogs barking at the kitchen door.
"At least someone is here to see me when I get home." She said to herself as she opened the backdoor door of her truck and started pulling out her camera bags.
"Hey guys!" she said to the two dogs that greeted her with wagging tails and wet kisses. "Come on guys, I'll let you out." She made her way through the kitchen, after setting her bags down on the table, to the back door in the living room. She laughed as the dogs ran out into the backyard tackling each other.
Jenn sat down on the couch and looked at the clock noting it was twenty till seven. She grabbed the phone beside her and called Melissa's cell phone. She picked up the remote and leaned back in the couch and turned on the tv.
Melissa walked in and closed the door. She laid her stuff down on the chair and collapsed on the sofa besides it. Her meeting ran late and she felt like it was never going to end. She just wanted to leave and have a relaxing night with Nick. However, her boss had other plans and kept her after the meeting, talking about her schedule.
Melissa laid her head back and closed her eyes. She was exhausted after her long day, but she couldn't close her eyes for long.
Ring...ring...ring. Melissa dug into her purse to find her cell. She looked at the screen.
"Hey Jenn, what's up?"
"Nothing. I just got home." Jenn replied. "How was your day of handling the public screw ups of Jive records?" She asked sarcastically with a laugh.
"My day was long! The meeting ran late and my boss couldn't stop talking." Melissa rubbed her forehead. "How was your day?"
Jenn snorted, "If I have to look through another never ending stack of pictures of prepubescent artists I might kill myself. Oh how I miss looking at pictures of the guys." Jenn said with a dramatic sigh, "Now those pictures, I could look at all day."
"You're missing AJ, huh?" Melissa asked knowing all too well how she felt.
"That's an understatement of the century." Jenn said turning off the tv, nothing caught her attention. "But I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here."
"Trust me, I completely understand. I hate waking up every morning without Nick." She sat up and opened up her laptop case. "No chance of you showing up in New York to surprise him?"
Jenn grinned, "I've thought about it. Trust me I've thought about it. What about you? Are you going to go?"
"Well technically, I'm already here." Melissa smiled. "I took the redeye from LAX and I just landed half an hour ago."
"You bitch!" Jenn exclaimed laughing, "Oh how I hate you right now. And I'm stuck here on the other side of the country."
"I'm sorry; I couldn't stand not seeing Nick for another day." Melissa flipped open her laptop. "I'm actually supposed to be having a webcam chat with him right now. My plan is to surprise him."
"Just don't kill the poor boy. They kinda need him ya know?" Jenn said laughing. Jenn looked up at the clock and saw it was 10 till eight. She had a few minutes before Aj was suppsed to call her. "Okay, well go have fun with your boy. If you happen to remember tell him I said hey."
"Oh don't worry; Nick will enjoy what I have planned for him." She turned the laptop on. "I'll tell him you said hi. And when you talk to AJ, don't mention I'm in New York!"
"I won't. Don't worry. Well go have fun. I've got to get something to eat, it's not long until Aj calls. Have fun!" Jenn said with an laugh. "I know I would be!"
"Bye, Jenn."
"Bye," Jenn said as she hit end on the phone.
