Whitewater
Rafting - June 2000

While visiting my brother, Pete, we went whitewater rafting on the
Clear Creek which runs below his house (with the Clear
Creek Rafting Company). The water was ~34 degrees F, having just
come from melting snow at higher elevations, so we wore wet suits, splash
jackets, helmets, and life jackets. Our feet still froze! We (the adults
plus Sarah) went through several stretches of Category IV rapids, then
the younger kids (Kim, plus her cousins Megan and John) joined us for
an hour of beginner rapids. Kim took several pictures of the five of
