Our Visit to Sedona - November 1999

Sedona is in an area about 100 miles north of Phoenix with lots of natural beauty. The mountains are bright red, and a river has carved a beautiful canyon. The town of Sedona is an artist's colony, and has lots of small shops with Native American and other Southwestern-influence art.

We stopped at the entrance to Sedona for this picture (that's Ewa in the middle):

Outside Sedona, Arizona.

After shopping, we drove north from Sedona along the canyon that leads to Flagstaff. Half way there, we stopped at the Slide Rock State Park, where Larry used to come cool off as a kid.

At Slide Rock State Park. The water's too cold to go in!

Sarah and Kim, our mountain goats!

At the northern end of the canyon, we stopped to look back along the road and to shop for some Native American crafts. A beautiful day, with a magic sunset on the way back to Phoenix!
