Located in Lettomanoppello, population 3000, at the northeastern edge of the Maiella National Park, within a half hour of the Adriatic Sea, Pescara and Chieti, in the foothills of the Maiella.  The town is at 1200 feet elevation and has a road leading above it to the peak of La Maielletta at an elevation of 6200 feet, with splendid views.  It is near to other towns of the Maiella National Park and is not much more than a half hour from Popoli and Sulmona.  The town has an ancient  history of stone-quarrying and sculpting, a tradition in revival as can be seen from the statues along the town belvedere, elsewhere in the town center, and on the mountainside just above the town.

which the establishment takes its name.
