"The
Company was mustered into the service of the United States and the horses and
horse equipments duly appraised and accepted at Fort Union, NM, September 18th
1861 by Maj. G. R. Paul, 8th Inf. The Company marched from Fort Union to
the Navajo country, served at Fort Fauntleroy, Fort Lyon (Cuvero), Albuquerque,
Corrales, and Fort Craig and was engaged in the Battle of Valverde, Feb. 21.
1862. From Fort Craig, the Company marched to Fort Union, where it was
mustered-out and discharged, upon the expiration of the term
of service March 19th 1862, by
Maj. G. R. Paul, Col. 4th NM Vols."
