Life at Texas A&M

The College Kid

I've chosen Texas A&M University at College Station, TX for my education, and was enrolled in fall of 1999.  I'm a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2003 (WHOOP!!!), and resident at the World Famous Hart Hall (WHOOP!!!).

I started out as a Psychology major to achieve intellectualism in the liberal arts, but it seemed rather unchallenging and unpractical as of what I wish to do in the future.  Luckily, I had also taken many science courses that allowed me the option of doing a second major in a science field.  I had chosen a path for a second chemistry degree at first, but finally decided to choose for a biochemistry degree.  It might sound like I would be in school forever, but in practicality it would only take me about four and a half years to obtain two separate degrees in biochemistry and psychology from Texas A&M.

I'm also trying to help out for two organizations - Hart Hall hall council and the school's new founded Neurological society by doing a few chores for them throughout the year, and also volunteered for hospitals and a rat research lab, and working at a cotton research lab (not all at the same time, of course).  All seemed to be rather educational and seemed applicable to my future research and profession.

This university provided me the perfect study environment and also a few places where I could obtain earthly lusty college pleasure.  I can't wait till I dunk my ring. WHOOP!

The Waiter/Sushi Chef/Cook

Can't forget the summer jobs while we're talking about college, right?

Accidentally, I ended up getting a job as a waiter at Nakamoto Japanese Restaurant at Plano, Texas for the first college summer back home. Read the reviews! It was the first good job that I've had, and it was the first time that effort and service really meant something to me. (Even though I worked about 60 hours a week) As a matter of fact, my boss liked me so much that they invited me back next summer to be an apprentice of the chefs in learning to make sushi that people wouldn't die from eating them. I've always enjoyed cooking for myself over the past few years, stir fry, spaghetti, soup, and many different types of food. This had enhanced my ability to cook more variety of delicious food, and hopefully help me to be more competitive out there with the love and romantic world. Wishful thinking? :P

The Student Lab Worker

At least the first job that is related to my major what so ever is this awesome lob job at the United States Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Research Service, Southern Plains Agricultural Research Center. (USDA - ARS - SPARC)  (I know what you're thinking)

It's been good to be hired, and it's been good to work with the techs at the lab.  They're rather nice to me and hasn't filed a charge of sexual harassment against my uncontrollable disgusting self.  I also get to do different things that I would have otherwise done for free for researchers - isolating DNA, using PCR machines, looking at the GeneMapper 3000 sequencing, it's all very novel and interesting to me.

The freakin' lab is located north of West Campus at Texas A&M University.  Come take me out to lunch once in a while.
