to memories of things left behind,
getting caught up in what if or what should be,
in a time when life was not kind.
looking for answers to our fears,
wishing we could change all the pain,
that resulted from all of those years.
a touch from the past,
hoping merging it with the present,
we could find peace at last.
that we never felt inside,
or simply ease the moment,
until we lock it back up and hide.
all the pain felt, and love lost,
Hopeful that in the process,
what we have done is worth the cost.
