The above painting was inspired by the left photo from an advertisement of "Paparazzi Paris" men's dress at the Siver Kriss magazine, a Singapore Airlines Inflight magazine, December 1990 edition.


		Though the above painting is similar with that of page 2, but in this page there is a different person to response it. This time it is related with gubernatorial election in California. When this painting was began on early August 2003, the model was taken from an advertisement in the magazine who somewhat look rather similar like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was after the sketch has been done that the news appeared in the media that Arnold Schwarzenegger would run for governor of California. Thank God, a few weeks later he successfully won the gubernatorial recall election, therefore this painting could have another interesting story, a significant historical value related with the election of Californian Governor in 2003.

Nobel Peace Prize Winner 2003

"for her efforts for democracy and human rights"

This year's Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Mrs. Shirin Ebadi from Iran, has the name that is rather similar with my former neighbor Irin, whose father was a prominent person and had a good relationship with Iran. Now Irin is living in Texas, U.S.A., following her husband, an Indonesian working at an oil company. And she has a brother with the name Ar, that is rather similar with Arnold mentioned above.

Though actually she was so close to become my wife several years ago, Thank God Irin did not become my wife. Otherwise, she would miss that good opportunity of living in the U.S., and must suffering of having a painting artist husband who is still depend on the family up to the age of 45 years old, with no self

income, with no own house, and plenty of bad accusations. Ouch, why should I grumbled, this is just another part of life that I should carry on. Besides, I am glad to have plenty of bad accusations as long as it is not true. It is just a lesson of life for me, and God do witness all this.

A few days before the announcement of this Nobel Peace Prize 2003, I made a painting about an elephant, a mother elephant with a child elephant. While Irin was living in a house number eleven when she was my neighbor. Does eleven sounds like elephant, could be so.

Congratulation again to Mrs. Shirin Ebadi, may God Bless you with all the beautiful gifts and happiness.

There is something important to clarify here regarding my relationship with Irin. Because her father was known as a devote person from a major religion organization in Indonesia, so there was some kind of speculations regarding what have happened between me and her. Or to be more precise, there was some kind of curiosity among some group of people who like to hear sensational rumors, with a hope to hear some wild sensations about me and her. Like usually happened in the movie, whereas a girl would tend to rebel to her father to have freedom.

So I should clarify here that there was no sensual sensational things that has happened between me and her, either with her agreement nor merely on my willingness. Besides, although her father was rather strict in discipline, but he was not too conservative regarding the children's way of life, so what's the use of rebellion from the children.

The closest moment that I ever have with her, and previously I have also explained about this to

someone, was when one day on a bright afternoon I visited her, by appointment, to talk about some pictures. She ordered me to make some pictures that would be printed on T-Shirts, for her classmates at the Senior High School who were preparing to join her school camping jamboree.

Though her parent and the others were not at the house, and she was wearing a short pant, but we were not alone at that moment because there was a small kid at the age of around five years old, her cousin, who joined us. And Thank God we were not doing any "dangerous" things.

After talking about the pictures, she asked me to bring her a small cat, as there were plenty of cats in my house. She said: "I want the cat NOW, or I would not want you anymore........"

So I brought her one, and she enjoyed holding the kitty cat. Then a few minutes later I left, because I have something else to do, to go to Jembatan Lima for some small printing business.
